Which is a funny assumption; it's only a transitional phase if the nature of devices is going to change and front facing camera and sensors go away. Like Samsung's patent for camera and sensors "in the display" is literally the display with a bunch of holes, the sensors just sitting there. They feel it might be less intrusive than a full notch... Just having several random dead spots in the display of various sizes. Yep, futuristic.

It's funny... When my daughter wanted me to get her the iPhone X, I immediately pointed out the notch to her and she was like "So.... What's the big deal"? She also couldn't care less about losing the jack.

That's pretty much my take on it. Plus the notch provides a functional benefit, which is nice.

Yeah it's a pretty deep notch with a large bottom bezel. Other phones seem to have smaller notches and bottom bezels. Even much cheaper phones.

Guess we have to wait and see why the Mitch is quite large. Maybe those cameras will justify it.
