Pixel 3 and 3XL if the Leak is real

Yes, and perhaps they could have even more data if they were available at more carriers.

Only if they're stealing away iPhone customers that don't use Google services.

Well the unit I got isn't a pre-production review unit. And the problems certainly aren't fake - they were widely reported and replicated issues with the display. Blue tint, grain, black crush and black smear being the worst of them.

I'm just concerned with Google going with LG again for the screen this year that we'll get another screen that isn't as good as the competition.

If you are really that unhappy with your Pixel I would just sell it. When I put my phone next to any phone at Verizon I don't see any difference that would make choose anything else. Everyone brings up the blue shift issue in Pixels but I see the same amount of color shift on Samsung phones as any Pixel.....it just isn't blue.....and that distortion on the edges is just awful.

the rumors (high possibility of notch in the pixel 3xl) decided it for me... ordered a Galaxy S9+...

While I don't favor the notch I just don't see it as a single deal breaker for my money. To each his own though....enjoy your Galaxy.

Notch, no notch, IDC, I'll be grabbing the P3XL when it drops, my AMEX is ready! I don't understand the outright hatred for the notch, IMO, it doesn't look horid at all, but i'm only one man

The notch is more of a personal preference.
I don't really like the notch on a phone myself. Don't mind the 1/4 inch extra bezel.
I'll probably hang onto my Pixel 2 XL Panda a while longer.

LOL... I get a kick out of people saying they don't like a notch and they will wait if it comes out with a notch.

Every company is now pushing for more screen on the devices. The only way to get any more screen is to move it to the top and bottom... that will mean a notch or it will mean you can't go all the way to the top.

Right now I have a Samsung S8 Plus. I'm looking to upgrade late this year and the Pixel 3 XL might be a good replacement. Either that or I have to wait for the Samsung S10 Plus. We shall see what Google can deliver this year.

If true these look ugly. Honestly I do not get this obsession with dual speakers for any serious listening surely everyone uses headphones or pairs with a speaker? Personally I could not care less how good the speaker is on my phone so long as it’s functional.

With many android phones still falling short in one or more areas and Samsung clearly not caring at all about speedy updates I think Google has an open goal this year, add some storage (or offer an SD slot) wireless charging, a good (i.e no blue shift) screen and an attractive design and I could not see a reason to consider any other brand.

Starting to wonder now though if they look set to miss that open goal.

You don't have to understand it. You like it...cool. It's just a hideous design.

I wish Google would go back to HTC for the Pixel 3 XL. LG makes great TVs but their phones are garbage. I still love my Original Pixel XL made with HTC.

Apparently they're using foxconn instead of using either.

You know, if this turns out to be accurate this year, it says a lot about Google really looking at true independence as a goal for the hardware division. I had my doubts about Rick Osterloh, but he may actually be the right guy for the job.

Still have my reservations about Ivy Ross, though...

LG phones have a lot of problems. Bootloop issues over multiple phones, even affecting the LG made Nexus 5X is pretty bad, but then LG not wanting to repair them was very disappointing to hear.

The less LG in Pixel phones, the better. I agree, I preferred the build of the original Pixel XL over the 2XL. Foxconn manufacturing the two Pixel 3 phones does sound promising though. They do make iPhones, so their quality is top notch. Here's hoping Google have extremely high QAQC for the Pixel 3.

As far as the notch goes, I'm indifferent. Can see arguments for both sides.

The major bootloop issues affected two models...the G4 and V10. The Nexus 5X bootloop issue was after an update and also affected the Nexus 6P which was not an LG phone. Foxconn makes phones but the screens will be made by someone else.

Or was Foxconn the lowest bidder?

It sounds like the Pixel just isn't the right phone for you. Perhaps and S8 Active or a Caterpillar phone? Most people like selfies and stickers and glass back phones. Google are selling to the mainstream.
Maybe there is an advantage not doing the same thing everyone else is doing? Apple seems to be doing OK selling smaller phones. Yes, they are making some bigger ones too, but they aren't abandoning those who prefer smaller, portable, phones. Glass backs on phones are just plain stupid--no advantages, and plenty of disadvantages. My father bought one, dropped it within a few weeks and it was shattered. I rarely see one that doesn't have cracks, if it isn't already in a case. I can ignore the selfy cams and stickers and other stupid nonsense, but no getting around fundamental design flaws like size, materials, and lack of basic functionality like a headphone jack.
