Pixel 3XL - Android 11 - background apps shutting down

Greetings!

This problem has been happening ever since I updated to Android 11 a few months ago. Since I am trying to hold on to this phone until a the Pxel 6 comes out, I really want to try to find a solution.

My background apps keep shutting down and it is driving me crazy. I can be using an app, get a notification of a new text. I go look at the text and come back to the app, it is reloading!

I have googled varius solutions, but non seem to work.

Any ideas? I really don't want a Pixel 5. Does it do the same thing?

Can you give an example of an app that reloads? Have you already tried turning off Battery Optimization for the app? Also, any power-saving modes turned on?
