Pixel 6.

If so it means one can even wait a year or even more knowing the phone will still be supported for years to come even.

So everyone, has anybody heard whether or not the pixel 6 line is coming with the rumoured 5 years of OS/security updates?

5 years of security updates is as confirmed as it can be till the actual launch. No leaks specifically defining any extended OS upgrade period, though it seems unlikely we'd see fewer than 4.

That's awesome to hear guys and gals.... I hadn't heard any more about the 5 years of updates, and kinda figured it wasn't true. Because of the extended updates, even if it's only security updates, I'm almost tempted to pick up a 6 not long after they come out :p . The last time I picked up a phone when it came out was my Moto X Pure Edition.... I'm a bargain hunter (or you can just call me cheap lol).

I do think if Google's Tensor chip performs well, they could have themselves a hit with the pixel 6 line :-$

OS updates don't concern me much as they seem to be mostly incremental anyway. I'm happy to see several years of security updates though and could lead me to buying a more premium version phone at a higher price knowing I can amortize the cost over several years as opposed to 2 or 3.

I'm just waiting for 12 to drop to my 4XL and really getting excited about Windows 11 (sarcasm)

^^^ORDERED THIS^^^ - have same on P5a - OH NO - now I gotta buy a P6 - hate it when this happens.
$14.00 dollars cheaper on AMAZON than Spigen site

Haha now you are committed to phone …

Anxious to see the alleged "Subscription" offer for Google Fi - I got the P5a on a "subscription" deal - pay $9.00 a month for the phone plus the Fi service fee - bill usually runs about $35.00 - at the end of 2 years I keep the phone and can get a new one - 24 months x $9.00 = $216 for the P5a.
I am a dedicated Google Fi user, so sticking with it is no big deal for me.
