Pixel 6.

They are made at the Google plant in Morgan City, La.

Iirc, they had moved production from China to Viet Nam for the 4a and 5 series - hadn't seen that assembly was being moved here, which would be surprising from a cost perspective, but welcome from a patriotic one and a great selling point, at least for those of us for whom it would be a domestic product. Is that confirmed somewhere?

Today I saw this image on Twitter.

Don't know what to make of it.

The device looks great.
But it's not due out for , what? , 12 weeks.
And looks like a Samsung display / store going on the font / wording in the background.

Hopefully it's a real life handset. I might be swayed if it truly is finally less mediocre than usual.

Would like to see some confirmation. Google would build a plant just to manufacture a new phone?

It was a joke.. Not likely to have a high tech manufacturing plant in cajun country. lol. We can't even get and hold onto an auto manufacturing plant in this state.

I can't wait for this phone! I don't see the Finger Print reader on the back? Is is supposed to be under the glass on the front?

Yes, under display. Works better on my S20FE than the back on my 3XL.

I'm very excited for this phone. Hope it's priced well.

A joke...but that made in the US. Must either be fake on the photo, or possibly the new foxconn site in WI? Who knows, not sure if I really care. Learned a long time ago, it is not where it is made, but how well the company performs quality control that really matters.

As for making vehicles....I had a Hummer H3 for six years, lived in Moab and beat it to death on trails most would never consider driving and after 48K miles, sold it and it was still in great shape. Never had a problem other than shocks, brakes, tires...so you guys in Cajun country did a great job.

My biggest problem with this phone is an inscreen FPS. Tried a S20 Samsung and had to send it back, would never read my thumb and using a finger was just too difficult one-handed. My old LG G7 rear FPS worked flawlessly.
My Pixel 4XL has too many intermittent problems with facial ID. Only thing I do not like about the 4XL.

I really like it, save for the supreme height and the middle-facing hole punch. I prefer my notches on the sides. But I'm sure like every notch, after a while you just stop seeing it.

Here is an article that mentions what the 6 and the 6 Pro (might be XL) might cost in India. P6=$736 US /P6 Pro=$870 US. Time will tell.

I would be thrilled with those prices especially bc I generally wait for Black Friday. I just hope they ditched the under display speaker on top. The case molds look like they did but we'll see. It may not be a deal breaker for me like it was with the 5 but I really hope they got rid of it

The pricing has always been the issue.
The 3XL and then the 4XL were more expensive than the corresponding Samsung Notes at the time. 9 and 10+ respectively.

With the inherent mediocrity, it made them a hard sell.

I hope they finally nail the "flagship" formula after all this time.
Im in if they do.

Gonna drop this here as it is an excellent read. I know @Morty2264 will feel that it was written just for her.

To be honest once you like Pixel you like Pixel.
Read that a few days ago.
Funnily enough I have had pretty much the opposite experience.
I did mutter "nonsense" a good few times whilst reading it.

Great to have choices though.

( My devices were pixel 4a and S21U granted )

The S21U would be more of an upgrade than the plain S21 I should think.

For sure. And the 4a is a fantastic device for the money. My son loves it .

But about 90% of the "problems" would be the same regardless of specific model.

Someone who has customisation as a negative won't care if it's the + or ultra et al.

Sure brings back the short memory I had with the under screen finger print sensor on my short lived Samsung device. And that is the problem I fear might pop out on a Pixel 6. And never had a problem with the rear sensor on a LG.

I have an S20FE and this under display sensor works flawlessly. It's very fast also especially if the phone is turned on before applying your finger. It's instantaneous
