Thanks for the update. My Silverado is the same generation as your Sierra so I will switch back to my Pixel and give it a try now that I've installed the update.
Let us know how it turns out.

Greetings,
Thought I would start a new thread specifically about Bluetooth if anybody is having issues...
In my case I am unable to totally pair my Pixel to my 2016 Honda Pilot infotainment system. The device will pair and seem to be connected as I can stream music from my device. However, if somebody sends me a text the Pilot does not acknowledge it. If somebody calls, the Pilot touchscreen will start to ring and if I tap on Answer call, it acts like it answers but it actually doesn't. My phone keeps ringing and I have to answer the call and talk on my phone. Sometimes the car will still think it's in a call even when I tap the hang up button on the touchscreen in the car.
It was mentioned in the gripes thread that it could be an issue with how Google does Bluetooth. If a Bluetooth headset is connected to your phone when you try to connect your phone to the vehicle, it won't work because Google's Bluetooth only allows one device. In my case I have a both a Gear Live smartwatch (android wear) and the Gear Fit 2.. yes, I'm a geek. If I disconnect both of them, then connect my phone I actually got it to work once, but even then when I hung up on the car touchscreen, it still thought it was connected. I assume it's the Android Wear device since that has a mic in it....
In the past I've always had an iPhone or Galaxy devices and they have never had any issues with any car systems. It's not quite to deal breaker status yet, but thought I'd at least start a thread about it in case others run into similar issues.
In my case, I can pair it just fine, but when somebody sends me a text while I'm driving, I get nonstop on-screen and sound notifications, one right after the other from everyone who has ever sent me a text, until I have to actually disconnect the Bluetooth from the car. Totally annoying!

This cracks me up. Usually us Ford owners have the problems.
Have you found any help with the Bluetooth problems? When I connect to my car (2016 Fusion - Ford Sync) it alerts me of every single text I've received on my phone since the last time it was connected to the car, even though they've already been read. I've worked with Google support & Verizon both. Per their suggestions the phone has repeatedly been reset to factory settings, network settings reset, there are 2 messenger services (Google's and Verizons) so I've made sure only one was enabled at a time, I've used either one to see if that was the problem etc. Nothing worked. The Verizon store tried to help and couldn't fix it so they had a new one sent to me. It STILL does the same thing the other one did. There are a few other things I don't like about this phone so far. I got it as a replacement phone after I had to return two Samsung Galaxy Note 7's due to the recall. I should've just went back to the Note 5.
It happened to me twice. I found 2 fixes for my situation. One, I cleared cache, cleared data. Two, I changed to a different sms app, one that I prefer anyway. Either way made Sync stop dinging.I have had problems on my UK Ford Sync when connected to my Pixel.
It always gives me notifications for every text I've received since the last time I was in the vehicle (even if they've been read on the device) which often leads to notifications constantly for >20mins most journeys.
Hi everyone,
I finally managed to fix my pixel to car Bluetooth issues. Bluetooth would always connect but sometimes the car couldn't see it as an "Audio device" and no sound would play. It's been like this since i recieved the phone in October so thought it was the cars system not being compatible or something. Then I found if i rebooted my Pixel to safe mode, it synced with the car straight away, and the car interface displayed all the song, album and artist info. So, what was causing it, after much uninstalling of apps, I found one called "Headset Droid", i'm not even sure what it does, all i know is that the moment i uninstalled it, the car audio kicked into life and everything worked like a dream!! Am so relived to finally get it working. I'm using the standard size Pixel, on 7.1 connecting only via Bluetooth to an Audi A1. A lot of the posts here lead me in the right direction so thanks everyone! Hopefully this might help somebody else out there![]()
The update to 7.1.1 fixed my issues!
My Pixel wouldn't stay connected to my 2012 GMC Sierra. It works now!
