Pixel notification light?

That's great. As short as the video it, it's exactly all I needed/wanted to see. Thanks for the posting.

Yeah, it would be cool if you could just glance down, and say you set emails to be blue - then you know you don't have to reply right away. But if the light is blinking blue and green, then you know a text came in, and you might want to pick it up.

I would think there would be an app for that, but I really don't know. Hopefully someone will chime in. I doubt that level of granularity will be built in though.

The notification light color can be controlled via in app settings in many cases.

I actually prefer NOT having a notification LED thanks to the Nexus 6. When I got the N6 I was bummed it didn't have one, but then I realized how annoying they are. Now I'm on the S7E and I hate the LED. I have to keep my phone face down all night as it's super bright blinking all night...

having an option never hurt for people who want them. you can always disable it in setting

I think it depends on the phone.

Both my 6P and my wife's 5X have notification LED's and both sit on the bedside nightstand overnight. The 6P's led is tolerable; if I awaken during the course of the night I can glance over at it and see if there are any notifications.

The 5X, on the other hand, is incredibly bright and annoying. When on, it lights up a significant portion of the ceiling overhead and actually keeps me awake with its incessant flashing. Now, we make it a point to leave the 5X face-down overnight.

this is what exactly i told about the notification light for the users who are obsessed with the led( just like me )to know about the app of which the notification came .
BUT
IF YOU DONT WANT IT THEN JUST GO TO YOUR DISPLAY SETTINGS AND TURN OFF LED NOTIFICATION;)
PROBLEM SOLVED.
BUT please dont curse the led it is really helpfu if you dont want it u have a choice but if i wamt it and it is not there then we have a problem which cant be solved.

Glad we have both the light and ambient display with the AMOLED screen

Looks very promising. GIven all I am reading I am wondering if I can do the ol' switch a roo on the wife. I take the Pixel and "pawn off" the HTC 10 on her...LOL!

yeah that is really a good thing
but i am just thinking of the price now loll... ;)
price is higher than the last nexus have smaller pixel has also a price quite high this time.

the specs are really really great .
the gpod thing is that you will get direct assistance by google for security patches and also for latest android versions .

I use Lightflow and had to set LED brightness to 20%. Makes a big difference.

Words cannot describe my excitement to have a notification light again. Something i've missed dearly on my nexus 6P

I had no idea the Nexus 6P i've been using for a year had a notification light until I saw this thread and someones comment about it. So thanks, just in time to get my pixel in a few weeks.

I have no idea how I ever missed that. Wow, I've missed it greatly. I keep my phone on silent most of the time, more so when I'm at work, and it was always nice to see if I had one without needing to turn on my screen.
