Pixel XL signal strength

Their rural coverage beats all others most of the time... My rural, mountain, forest coverage is amazing with Verizon. It's the only real reason I stick with them. Just my .02

This is pretty much the reason people put up with Verizon shafting them. Yeah, they're expensive and tend to shaft people on updates for phones, etc. but their network usually just works. It may not always be the fastest LTE when you're not in a city, but there's usually something there. AT&T comes close, but none of the others do at this point.

I am seeing the trend here. Pixel does not like Verizon's network is what I am picking up strictly from reading the thread.

I do not have a Pixel, in fact the reason I came to this thread is that I am researching the Pixel Signal on VZW, but I can say with out a doubt that in my area (outside Richmond, VA) that VZW is terrible with Android based phones. It drives me insane as all my past Android phones got a terrible signal from VZW while my wife sits on the couch next to me with her iPhone and no issues what so ever.

I want the Pixel bad enough to abandon Big Red and give Google Fi a test being that posts on this thread from AT&T / Sprint users who have Pixel seem to be having a better experience than those on VZW. Would not surprise me if Google mainly tested / teaked on the networks of its own service.

I have the Pixel on Verizon, and my signal strength has been excellent, so has call quality. So it's not a Verizon issue IMO Well at least not in my area.

Exact same problem here. Got the Pixel XL in November and when I am at home have to go outside if I want to have a decent conversation, even then I have a problem with dropping calls. Consistently have 0 bars or 1 bar at all times when in my home and removing the case does not help. I have always had some level of reception issues in my home with other phones, but it has never been this bad. I had the Samsung N4 and the N7 and could make calls in the house with them but if I went to certain places (kitchen) it would drop. My bf now has S7E and has no problems with calls in the house. In comparison I have a iPhone 6 for my work phone and haven't had any issues with reception. Both my personal phone and my work phone are on the same network - Verizon. Absolutely love the Pixel but this is the only problem I have with it and it' becoming a major problem.

I had my pixel xl day one. It was bad with the holding a signal. It also has/had the rattle. I figured I would roll the dice and because I had so many drops they sent me a new one. I got it before Christmas and honestly forgot about signal. Checked when I got it and it seemed to be better. Since then I hadn't thought about it until a few days ago when I went on this forum. Not sure whether it's the new phone or anything else but it is fine. I won't say I haven't gotten drops because I have but its not an issue because I am in bad signal areas.

So I am a happy camper.

So I used the phone for about 1 month on google Fi network which is suppose to switch between T-Mo Sprint and Fi (their own band) and have gotten really bad quality signal. The calls would cut in and out and data would not work half the time and I have to manually program a code to switch network. As someone whom used to work at google for "new product introduction" I was really disappointed and have just returned the phone. The phone itself is great, nice feel, good weight all you need in a phone except the core aspect of a phone, making calls and using data... So this seems like an expensive failure. I am in the SF East Bay Region and commute to SF from East Bay and have really bad reception at both my home and office. I should not have to manually program my phone to switch carriers because either voice or data is not working.
