Played with the Turbo today and compared it to the Note 4

Yes. The Turbo should have android 5 hopefully a few weeks after it is released. That is if Verizon doesn't hold it up.

I may go with the Droid Turbo.

Now, is Motorola and Google working together? on some phones?

And will the Droid Turbo, be compatible with the new Android version 5 when it comes out? because from my reading , i know that google phones get the first updates.

Thanks.
Motorola phones will get the updates quicker than Samsung since they don't butcher it as much.

It wasn't even close. The Note 4 is obviously the more quality product. The Turbo just looks tired and boring in a side by side comparison.

I really, really wanted to fall in love with the Turbo. On paper it's a beast. The screen doesn't get bright enough, the top mounted speaker is just OK... about on par with the mediocre speaker on the S5 and the camera is slow to respond. I guess I'll be waiting for either the S6 or M9 to get my smartphone lust fired up again. Until then I'll stick with the S5 a damn fine all around performer with some clear cut flaws. If the N4 wasn't so darn big I'd snap it up in a second. It's one incredibly impressive piece of technology with a drop dead display and SOTA camera.

So yo compared an apple to an orange ... Ok

I had the Note 4 and traded it for the Turbo. Why? A few reasons.

• Note 4 was just too big. I always felt as if I was going to drop it.
• It felt fragile. I fix phones for a living. I've seen hundreds of broken screens. The Note 4, with such a large screen and a metal frame to apply pressure to the glass, it won't take much to break the screen and it'll be a PITA to fix.
• Speed. The Note 4 simply feels slower than the turbo.
• Stock android. I've never been able to own a phone with stock android until now and I love it.
• Nanocoating. I feel safe knowing it can somewhat resist water.
• 1 free phone replacement. Verizon and Motorola are so confident in this device's durability that the first time one breaks the screen, the phone us replaced free of charge. Nice little security bonus.

Plus I think it looks super cool with the nylon back and the "Droid 64GB" badge:)

They both have their advantages and disadvantages, I personally prefer the Note 4 due to the screen being brighter and the s pen. As far as lag, not sure what everyone is getting so bent out of shape about, they both lag off the same which technically isnt by much. Nova launcher wipes out the lag on both though so it just boils down to preference at that point.

If you think Samsung (Touchwiz) doesn't have more lag than a Motorola device than you haven't used both. Motorola uses a near stock version without a ton of ridiculous animations and other things that slow it down. I've used enough of both brands (Note 2, Note 3 and S5) (Droid, Droid 2, RAZR Maxx, Razr HD Maxx, Droid Maxx and Droid Turbo) so I recognize the difference instantly.

Not starting trouble so please don't take this the wrong way.

So with the Droid Turbo and the stock Android experience, do you use another launcher? Use it the way it is? I'm trying to get a good idea as to what people do with having the "stock" experience as I have played around with the devices before, but never actually "owned" one.

Personally, with every phone I own, I use either Nova Launcher or Action Launcher. On the Droid MAXX, I did use the stock launcher on and off because I liked the command center widget, but the custom icon packs and ability to set your own grid size is more useful than one widget. I'll absolutely be using either when my Turbo gets here this week.

Another member already posted this, but good news is... the command center widget works with Nova (on knees, clutching chest - sobbing)

You're going to love that the CC widget works with Nova Launcher on this phone :) I also use Nova and stealth icon pack. It compliments the speed and fluidity of this device.

Was reading some of the reviews on the Droid Turbo, like:
"phone doesn't have the capability to make a call and use data at the same time" Hmmm, it was good that you can talk on the speaker and search the web in the same time... and i guess no texts too, while talking.

"Call volume is really low" also mobile spot not working?!...

So can any of you confirm this info above if is true?..

Still want the droid turbo, and i hope i am not going to change my mind and get the note4...hmm.

I've owned a Turbo since day 1. Most all of these problems have been resolved except simultaneous voice and data. That will be fixed in the next few months and be faster and better than it was before.

In regards to the voice and data part there are many threads on this. The Droid Turbo will support voice and mobile data in the next 30-60 days when the update to enable VoLTE goes out, until then it does not. Texting doesn't use data so you can still text while talking on the phone although you won't be able to send or receive MMS messages.

I had no issue with the call volume, but as Firedogee said before, turn off voice privacy, and if it is still too low, disable the "Audio Effects" app.

You can search on the web at the same time, if you are connected to WiFi. VoLTE is coming, hopefully sooner than later, and that will fix this issue. Texts? I'm almost 100% sure that you can receive texts while on a phonecall, as texting doesn't use mobile data unless they're MMS's.

I'm gonna call for some backup on that last assumption.

/Whistle

Love my Turbo so far. I just assumed that I had simultaneous voice and data since my Bionic and DNA had it.

Nope, I'm using the stock Turbo launcher. It works great.
