Ok it works, had to use z4root instead of rage against the cage but same difference in the end. made a new thread as a a guide here:

Thanks so much for all your help on making and testing out this for everyone so can I finally use this to get back to stock and will this get the radio down cuz I know you said in the thread you where working on the radio downgrading and I have this radio so can I just throw the radio and recovery you posted on my evo with the specs i posted?

i think i just f@*&$d my phone up i was doing everything thing great i get to the part where you haven to change the name of the pc36img files i had downleaded or pushed the files to the phone 1 error i got was where you do the update it went fine the radio i think vibrated because when you can get to the recovey when i was able it said when i flashed the unrevoked forever file it came up with error installation aborted and showed it didnt work because of the incompatibale radio version and every time i get the phone to turn on i cant get passed the htc screen and i tryed the other instructions and i tryed to start with the file that lets yu downgrade and now i get radio vibrate and it says parttions fail and i cant get the phone to connect so i could try and ruu back to stock for some reason please help i am not stupid i stopped where i had messed up and cant do anything im pretty sure i could fix so i need someone to hold my hand lol and walk me thru the retart process of getting the phone back to turn onnot the red trying and no white screen lol please

ok tryed the ruu witch i know from 3 past trys on the hero back in the day werent good with i can now make this a 4th i dont know what the f happend but it came up with error the file could not be reached and that you should try and download the file again so i gusse i used a older version and now i found the version that is for 3.70 and radio ver 11.19 and now its flashing with a triangle on every cornner and with ! in the middle and i pull the usb out and it gos to hboot but only says ruu and i turn it off and try holding the combos not a dam thing works and no i have the new ruu i cant get the dam thing to connect thru usb now :-( i think im going to have to return now and i didnt want to when even did the update i thought of swapping out someone please tell me my phone isnt shot or can tell me how to get it to connect after running a botched ruu

lol sorry for all the random rambel i was up till 5:30 am lol but check this when i turn the phone on i get this black htc screen and the ! triangles on all four corners and when in put the usb in it still stays there and when i pull the usb it brings up the white screen where i used to be able to see my hboot and where i used to be able to press the power and voulm down and get there but now i cant it gets to this same sorta screen and its black with the warning sign and only ! and 2 triangles and the bottom and i cant get into flash boot anything or im not able to get the phone to connect to anything cuz i found the new ruu for the phones hardware

OK, so leaving the phone at the triangle screen, plug the USB in, after you hear your computer make the usb sound, run the RUU file.

i just tried and i only get the beep sound and it dont show it in the usb devices and the ruu say usb connection is there any other way to get it into a usb mode or something i got it to connect the way you told me the first time i was stuck and ran the ruu that messed my phone up and cant connect to the new ruu what can i do now when the other one messed up it said to connect and try again and now i cant?

turn your phone on, plug it in via usb, go to your sdk folder and type

fastboot devices

ok i got the phone on and it came up in the sdk and shows the phone in fastboot and shows numbers but the screen is still at the same screen on the phone whats next

Now, you can't get to the bootloader right, if you hold vol down and power at the same time while the phone is off, it still returns to this screen?

You have to try running the RUU a few times, I've read about this before, you will get out of it, just make sure your RUU file is a good download and you have to keep at it, it's annoying I know.

I'm more def. curious to know how you washed your boot loader. If you had hboot 2.10 I'd love to know the steps you took.

I'm reading at XDA, for the same error, someone used this RUU: RUU_SuperSonic_S_Sprint_WWE_3.30.651.3_Radio_2.15. 00.09.01_NV_1.77_003_release_157088_signed.exe

ok ima keep trying but i used the directions that u said omg i found that i was trying this for 7 hour link in red the first one you see and it went all smooth and then i to the part where you get to the hboot screen and then flash the first pg36img file or what ever it was called and when in did that it goes to the next step and say onces you get to the green screen with text you should flash the unrevoked forever file and thats when stuff went sour it said installing and the you see unrevoked forever 1.x and the it looks for updating and install aborted radio not supported and the i tryed to continue with the turn the phone on instructions and if you get kicked into what ever then follow these instructions witch in got stuck at the white htc screen and then i turned off the phone and i had already switched the files named like stated and it should read the files in hboot screen and just reboot it says and you should be good and i was almost there and then i tryed the old ruu from i think april and it must have been for older evos when it had an older image cuz it said it was downgrading and then it said file errors try and download the file again and now got me stuck at the ruu screen when i pull the usb while on it show the phones ship s-on screen and my radio and it says in orange ruu and when i plug in again it just brings the black screen up but im going to keep trying and let me know what you think after reading my failed atempt

yes that is what i used and i had got the new new one for my phone and i cant get the damn connection so what did they do with the phone probbly nothing huh

The RUU should be able to get it eventually, you do have fastboot available so we can try pushing some stuff over via fastboot but the RUU would be easier even though it's more of a PITA at this point.
