[POLL] How likely to buy from play store after this experience

Re: [POLL] How likely to buy from play store after this experienc

I know.. I can see that. What it does not say is "Will be available in stores on 7/13/12" If it said that I would have skipped the pre-order mumbo jumbo and rolled the dice at GameStop or Walmart. It's not an apple role out so there won't be camping or craziness at the stores.

Gamestop (most likely) is selling the tablet without Google's blessing, which means they'll be paying a price for it. They didn't give a "street date" for it besides for saying Mid July, which we're just getting into the timeframe of. Since they have 1 more week before the 3 week limit was up, it's highly likely that preorders will start shipping to people before the official rollout.

Re: [POLL] How likely to buy from play store after this experienc

doesn't really sound like they broke street date. Many have said they got emails at their store saying they are good to sell them. Guess we shall see if there is any backlash. Either way kinda wishing I had gone the. Gamestop route now.

Re: [POLL] How likely to buy from play store after this experienc

Gamestop didn't break streetdate. The permission to sell came from Google. Gamestop was also given a "third wave" that will now be the 7th. All second wave customers will get their within the week (if it's not there now, most are) and the third wave will be on or before the 7th. Google apparently has a million of these things ready to ship. Now if they would just do it :(

Where is your proof of this? Why would they let Gamestop sell the device early but ask every other retailer to stop?

Re: [POLL] How likely to buy from play store after this experienc

Given that Gamestop pre-orders are being picked up now (w/no shipping charge) and my June 27 pre-order through Google has not been charged/shipped...8.

They said ships in 2-3 weeks. It hasn't been 3 weeks yet.

Gamestop broke street date. That's an issue with Google not making retail penalties harsh enough, NOT with them not having control of their online ordering process.

Re: [POLL] How likely to buy from play store after this experienc

If there's a next time, I will place pre orders with 1 or 2 retailers in addition to Google. Whoever gets it to me first (or cheapest) gets to keep my money. The others get refused or returned.

That's the logical strategy when Google ships to stores before shipping to customers who pre order from Google and pay full retail, plus shipping, plus sales tax.

Meanwhile, I called the GS near work and they're holding one for me. BRB

Re: [POLL] How likely to buy from play store after this experienc

Google is really digging their own grave by not releasing ANY kind of statement or update as far as the launch process. It's like they just randomly tossed some units around and then realized that they didn't have their own orders together.

Stores ALWAYS get shipments early. Largely because they placed the orders months ago. The only way to ship to stores is by doing this and it's one of the reasons we get cool things (why make a product without at least some interest). What went wrong is that Gamestop broke the street date and are (apparently) intentionally ignoring the stop order Google put out yesterday to the other retailers who started selling early.

The only thing I see Google doing wrong with this is they didn't make the consequences for shipping devices early strict enough.

Re: [POLL] How likely to buy from play store after this experienc

Yesterday when I voted "1", I would buy from Play again. I was still in my first stage of grief, denial.

Today I'm happy to announce I've moved to the next stage of grief, anger. Now that I'm seeing Gamestop owners flaunt their tablets in my face, anger is kicking in nicely. And I have to readjust my poll vote to a "5" now. I may still buy from the Play store, but I probably won't pre-order anything from them again. Who the hell ships a new product on a Friday anyway?

Re: [POLL] How likely to buy from play store after this experienc

It won't keep me from buying google products maybe ordering directly from them...

Re: [POLL] How likely to buy from play store after this experienc

I have to change my vote. I will spend my $25.00 credit with the play store and that will be it. I will buy nothing else from Google. And I had already decided that my next phone would be a Nexus.....nope....I'll be sticking with Samsung!

Re: [POLL] How likely to buy from play store after this experienc

Maybe everyone will try to figure out where I live and beat me up after saying what I'm about to say, but I'll gladly still buy anything from Google. A 1 across the board.

Why? Because the company itself has done nothing that makes me angry at them; people get angry over the pettiest stuff.

Oh no! Your tablet is a few days later than was never officially announced?! What? GameStop is selling them against the say-so of Google (yes, speculation, of course)?! Life is so hard!

Please, people, realize how good you have it. Apparently your biggest problem in life is that you haven't received your high-tech gadget as quickly as you apparently deserve. I'd say your life is brilliant compared to some people's lives. And yes, this applies to me, too. I'm not the happiest about what's going on, but it's just a small thing in the grand scheme of things.

Grow up, complainers.

Where does that idea even come from?? No one is tossing anything around. B&M preorder stuff always arrives before the launch date so that it is ready. If GS didn't stick to the agreed release date, as many suspect, that has nothing to do with Google getting "their own orders together." I'm sure Googles' orders and well in order...

Re: [POLL] How likely to buy from play store after this experienc

Tell you what... I would pay double for this thing if Google would adjust the order of everyone who calls in multiple times, placing them at the back of the line. That would be awesome. :)

Re: [POLL] How likely to buy from play store after this experienc

While I have no problem with waiting, I'll likely wait and order elsewhere for future Nexus devices that are offered through the Play Store. So I guess an 8?

It has nothing to do with waiting, just the lack of communication on Google's part. I realize Google has no real power of why GS starting selling devices today, but they could at least come out now and say why the device never shipped this week considering B&M stores clearly have them.

I don't feel entitled to have this early, but most of the issues I have with this whole fiasco are things most other retailers or device manufacturers tend to comment on as soon as possible. Google dropped the ball in the customer service department, at the very least.

They have a pre-roll recording through customer service, they announced via twitter and G+ that the shipments were starting.

They said that shipments would start within 2-3 weeks and guess what? they did. Why do they need to communicate more?

They commented WITHIN HOURS.

Re: [POLL] How likely to buy frm play store after this experience

I'd buy from them again, why not? The only release date they've "missed" are rumored ones.. if I had a nickel for every device in these forums that missed a rumored release date I could buy Google... lol. :)

haha... thats awesome!

Re: [POLL] How likely to buy from play store after this experienc

Count me as another person who thinks that until Google misses the 2-3 week mark as stated on the website when you preordered then this is much ado about nothing.
