and dont forget to most of us it wont be $10 because of the 25% or 27% discounts. To me its only going to be an extra $7.50 a month. who cares. one less trip to Whataburger a month. Maybe help me lose some weight.

lmao hahaha

I don't care about the 10 dollars. There is always the possibility of them dropping at some point in the future.

The $10 premium data package is a nonissue for me as well. I just want the Evo now.. :D

I actually pay $8 for that data package ;)

It is interesting to hear that $10 is going to stop people from buying a $200 superphone. I can sympathize with the sentiment, but if you're worried about $10 a month, is the Evo really the phone for you? You always pay more to be on the bleeding edge. The Hero has 2.1 and doesn't have a surcharge, so if you're really jonesing for Android the Hero is a worthy choice.

I get 25% and I am totally bummed that the evo charge doesnt get discounted.

I'm ok with it since its still less than I would pay with another provider AND its nearly what I pay now without data (after % off) before the $10.

If I drop the landline I've used twice in three years I save money :)

Who else is going to show Sprint an extra $10 fee on their new flagship phone won't fly? Especially since I'm sure many of you, like me, aren't in 4G areas.

Coming from the Pre I couldn't possibly use more data than I already do and don't accept their justification for the fee. On a family plan a $10 fee represents a 50% increase in cost for this phone per month in addition to the standard $20 add a phone fee.

$240 for the life of a 2 year agreement bugs me enough that I won't be purchasing this phone with Sprint until something changes. For a tech person this is hard but principle rules on this decision.

For anyone who wants to claim that Sprint is still cheaper go ahead. But it's getting less cheaper so suddenly Verizon's superior 3G coverage network looks good with the Inc (again, I'm in a major city that does not have 4G).

Just my opinion.

Thanks!

WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO CARES! We will see you in a few months when you change your mind.

The fee isn't stopping me. I can understand the OP doing this on principle, but at the same time, for me, the specs of this phone make it worth it. Sprint is building out a new 4g network so I can't say it is just their greed to charge. Do you really think that Verizon isn't going to charge a premium when they roll out their LTE 4g?

I've had the phone in Atlanta for about a week now. While I'm not in 4G all the time, when I am, the speed and capacity make the phone and price well worth it. The hotspot is easy to operate and the wifi signal strength was decent on the HTC Hero and pc I connected (absolutely drained the battery though). The processor makes the whole 3G experience that much better as well. Youtube looks amazing and surfing the net is sharp. I could easily read ebooks on this massive screen. This phone is the real deal. $10 more on top is well warranted considering how much more people will WANT to use this as an internet portal.

i think i throw away $10 in change every month just because i hate change... Clearly whoever is bitching about $10 should get boostmobile the low budget prepay plans are more fitting.

Give me a break. So you'd rather pay MORE for Verizon or AT&T plans to get unlimited data and SMS rather than pay $10 more per month and have access the hotest Android phone on the market? You can cry in your beer all you want, but even with the $10 fee Sprint is still cheaper AND you can upgrade every year. Choice seems simple to me.

79.99 for limitless data and text, with 450 minutes(including the 10 4g fee). But you should so Sprint what there missing out on, got to Verizon or Att and pay 20 bucks more a month without the 4g, after all its the principle of it right? wait Im confused.

I fully support the original poster. Its a matter of cost/benefit, and the extra $10 a month does not increase the benefit of having the phone when you are already paying for an "everything" plan. Its not about the amount of money because I could afford several of these phones, but its about the principle of allowing Sprint to charge us extra for no extra service. Its obvious those of you here who are going to get the phone anyway, or are giving the OP a hard time over this lack the principles to stand up to a company when it does something that makes you unhappy. I am more motivated than ever to swtich providers. Even if the cost is more atleast I will be getting everything I am paying for than paying for services i cannot use. I would advise the OP to go to the iphone or Incredible as both are very capable phones and they both are on networks much superior to Sprint's. I really want the EVO, but Sprint has told me they don't want my business. Looks like they will continue to shed subscribers by the thousands like they have for awhile. So much for improved customer service.

The $10 fee doesnt bother me at all .I also recieve my company discount of 25% so no biggie there as well. To each their own but that will not stop me from picking up my evo on June 4th :)
