Ok good, I powered up my pre and it was at 2-3 bars and so was my wires rumor2. My evo was at 1 to zero, with a flash of 2-3 now and then.

I actually have better (stronger signal) coverage with my EVO than I did with my Pre. Was one thing I was worried about but the EVO impressed again.

I am seeing the EXACT same. I tether just about full time at work and my 3g coverage and speed is vastly superior in the same spot as my pre.

here in Vegas on the strip tonight i got.

Honolulu...

Sprint has great coverage here in Honolulu and that's why I've been with 'em for years... getting pretty good 4G coverage... but it doesn't feel any faster than 3G to me... need to download the speedtest app

AND 4G seems to drain the battery faster (??)

still love the phone though!

edit:

3G- dn=1.27mbs up=0.96mbs
4G- dn=1.08mbs up=0.68mbs

mines alot better than it should be. We are not scheduled to have 4G until Aug....but I'm rolling on it now. There was actually one of the Clear contractors @ Sprint friday when I picked up the Evo. He didn't come out and say it, but dropped some real heavy hits to everyone outside to keep checking for 4G "we might be suprised"
4G in my house, and my favorite mexican place, not at my mothers house which is between my house and the mexican place...odd.

Re: So how is your 4G coverage ?

I was at a dodger game last night and I was able to pick up 4g signal. I was also able to use the 4g hotspot. Hopefully they'll announce 4g in los Angeles soon.

I find mine getting no coverage a lot. You know the odd thing is that I have not seen this thing switch to roam once and I have it set to automatic.

I'm also surprised at this gap in the Grapevine/Colleyville/Southlake corridor...although it looks like a little bit of Southlake got it.

I'm in Coppell and just tested. I have 2 4G bars. I got 5200kbps download and 1050kbps upload.

My 4G service at in my home is lousy. The only place I'll get it is upstairs close to a window, and only 1 bar. Outside, I'll also get one bar. Oh well.

Haven't really tested out how the coverage is around the rest of the Chicagoland area, but, hopefully it's better than my home. :(

Honolulu, Hawaii 4G coverage

Anyone here live in Honolulu, Hawaii tried out their 4G coverage?

Well for me im getting slower speeds inside and outside of my house with the 4G on. With 4G on i only get half the speeds that i get using 3G (~500kb for 4G and 1000kb for 3G) :( very disappointed with this crap. Dont even know why im paying the $10 bux for the 4G exp.
