No, I have no idea. But I'll be disappointed if it does return, unless it's fixed promptly by the next update. Anyway, please let us know. Good luck!
You tried with the same phone and it works with some faces but not others?i tried with me and doesn't worked but with my wife was perfect so that mean only work on pretty faces lol
No one would know except a few engineers and executives at Samsung. Your guess is as good as anyone else's.Do you think this upcoming software update will address the issue?
@Gary02468 after you said "Possibly a driver-level bug is randomly corrupting some resource in a way that's randomly affected by some aspect of the user account" I signed out of my Samsung account and rebooted to see what would happened. It worked for about three hours then stopped working again. Frustrating. No one would know except a few engineers and executives at Samsung. Your guess is as good as anyone else's.
Just to gather more data: Have you tried with other faces? Tried portrait video selfie mode as well as portrait photo selfie mode? Do you have any other camera apps installed? What's your full firmware version number?I signed out of my Samsung account and rebooted to see what would happened. It worked for about three hours then stopped working again.

and it works fine on safe mode, correct?
If it works for a while after rebooting, and it always works in Safe Mode, then it's likely a software defect rather than a hardware defect.I know that I have posted several issues with my s21u but I'm also having this problem. I think that I got a bad phone.

Can always try odin , reflash the firmware see if it helps. If it works for a while after rebooting, and it always works in Safe Mode, then it's likely a software defect rather than a hardware defect.
I agree it's worth a try, but my guess is that it won't help. Can always try odin , reflash the firmware see if it helps.
