Google Earth 2.1 will be very cool!

What I'm looking forward to is
The updated media apps *Stock not ported for use*
Multi Touch *Stock* in the browser
Voice to Text (I know I've heard its not that accurate)

Past 2.1 I really really really want Flash.

I'm not one to load custom ROM's as I depend on my phone every day and don't want to run buggy software. Before I get bashed, I know lots of you run custom ROMS without problems, but I think stock is where its at.

I heard that the 2.1 Droid release will have livewallpapers and the new launcher.


Keep in mind, that is just what I heard. Nothing is set in stone yet.

However that does make me happy.

I was actually hoping to see this update today, but oh well. I'd guess that Moto is tied up with that Cliq update that was bricking phones, but I'm also guessing that Verizon is already testing/crapifying 2.1 for us. 33 days.

They want to have people unroot and stay unroot. Its good news though. Makes me happy. I was pretty upset when they pulled all the info back but it all makes sense now. They went from releasing 1/2 an update to taking the time to complete the update we wanted. 28 builds later.

I am very certain we'll see it rather soon. I mean, we have (as you said, thank you by the way, I am far too lazy to count lol) 33 days. And moto is staying firm on the update being "soon" and not Q1. That tells me we'll get it before the end of Q1 or they would not of changed it from Q1 to "soon"


And I know a lot of you out there are nay-sayers (not you Chris, I am saying this in general). But c'mon, you're gonna let one accident that some moderator of a forum made sway your decision on the entire company?

I think Moto/VZW is being tight lipped on a official day now because they don't want another accident like what happened before. I'd like to know a official date myself, but what if they said "march the 5th" and they came out a day later and said "oops, jk! that was premature" that'd make you far more angry.

Not to mention the fact that I would assume (and HOPE) that Verizon learned from their mistake with the original Storm in rushing it to release.

I like to believe that VZW is simply taking the extra time to make sure everything is good with the update before pushing it out to devices.

Absolutely. It seems that nowadays, if a company commits a release date for anything and doesn't come through, people go nuts. It's wiser not to say anything until it's literally being sent out.
