1. Why would they make you go in the store to upgrade and why would they care what version you were running.
2. "megagamer44" what did your friend get the other night?
1.) Because reports of updating the eris to 2.1 would be a MASSIVE file, and require a clean wipe. Supposedly they cannot push such a big file out OTA.
If that happens then hopefully Verizon, like Sprint has, will push it OTW through their site (or some site) to download to our compys instead of making a pilgrimage to some service center.
wheres patches? wheres patches ..lolololany update from patches? something? what's the latest new date? The 19th? 26th? April 1st?
Well guys this is kinda off topic but im just letting you know my Eris's speaker was blown, and it sounded like crap when you try to play anything. Long story short I took it to Verizon, and they are shipping me out a new, completely clean ErisWhich means I will have 1.5 again. Oh, what do do....stay with 1.5 and wait for the update...or upgrade to the leaked 2.1...
Although a thought occured to me...since I have to send my old one back, what do they do with it? Will they charge me money if they find out it has 2.1 or something? Or am I all clear once I get it? I mean, he gave me a receipt and everything and its coming monday, so it's official.
And ever since I have joined this forum, I now have a strange feeling everytime I walk into a Verizon store. I feel like they are all hiding things from people...they seem to act very strange around me...I asked them about the Incredible , and about Verizon replacing the Eris with it and he said "What? Why does everyone keep asking that? I don't know anything about that...no we are not I haven't heard anything about it" Then he asked the other guy working at the desk as if to assure me they didn't know and he replied with the same answer. Hmmmmmm.... And also when I told him another Verizon retailer told me the blown speaker was a factory defect...he replied with "Defect? I've never heard of any factory defects with any of the droids..." Are you kidding me?
Anyways I mainly want your feedback on the first question, about me shipping them my Eris containing leaked software![]()

Ok guys I'm back. Sorry, my bday is tomorrow and I've spent the week mostly incoherent.
No new updates as far as when it'll be released. I still think sometime after the 20th based on when they started.
OT: what's the version number of the leaked 2.1?
