Post All Moment 2.1 Rumors, News, and Updates HERE

Sweet that is nice to hear. And my contract is up on March 27th...So I'll be lookin to get a new phone then. So sounds like i may get to start out on 2.1 :) Although since I'm probably ordering online or something, i might have to do update myself, not sure they would have the update already on there that quickly. Also it does mention in the tweet that the exact version was not confirmed. So lets hope it is the full 2.1 update, and not something else.

Yeah, there's a reason I didn't go out on a limb and call it the 2.1 update, but I'm thinking if nothing else it'll be moving us one step closer. Haven't heard anything else I am willing to call reliable yet, but I know I'm not the only one trying to run this down, and I'm sure that some more details will be coming out sooner rather than later.

I promised myself I wouldn't get excited until I hear somethings official (not working so far.....lol) but it looks like the 31st date might be it!!

It's almost not working for me :(

lol I want to know now, I was almost tempted to call Sprint, but I figured it wouldn't get my anywhere, and my hopes that much higher.

Anyone else see that tweet from AC? The story is posted on the main page about the 2.1 update for the Moment and Hero. The one part that stands out is: Look for more information coming in April about Android 2.1 platform for Hero and Moment.

Yeah it's on the front page of Android Central...

SO it throws some speculations of when it will come out OR they want to mess around with people's head... I go with mess around with people's heads

i really hope that this update releases on schedule our phones really need it !!!! between google voice and gps reception. the cell phone gods need to reign down there awsomeness sooner then later

so is the update really coming out tomorrow and if it does when and what should i expect to recieve something if anything

My friend got a message from sprint that said something along the lines of an update today on her phone. however she said she didn't know what it meant and deleted it. If I didn"t check stuff for her she'd be hopeless..............

So it just adds to the speculation but i hope the update does come out for you guys :)

I work in a Sprint Store in Overland Park, KS area, I had a couple guys come in yesterday and I asked them what the did for sprint (name badges and Advantage accounts) They said they where in the CDMA phone testing group. I was talking about their job and I asked about what phones they test they said only sprint and new and old. Talked about the EVO (he called it supersonic) He then said they have been testing 2.1 on the Moment for a few weeks and said it should be out next week. He also said it was going to be OTA which I questioned him on and he said that what he was told. They also said that it was supposed to be out Friday but it got pushed for some reason with deployment issues but it works great. He mentioned that Sprint Nav is not needed because the Google nav blows it away. Also mentioned Hero is not getting it at least he thinks because they have not tested it and that is what was relayed to him. I don't know they seem to know their stuff, but i guess we will see. I don't care too much because I have a Pre, but my wife has a Moment so I asked. But I think that will help for sales to have the 2.1 on the moment.

I had talked with Sprint's Tech Department today, they told me that the 2.1 for the Momentwon't be out until mid May.

I have it. I started a new thread with my experiences so far. It's not yet for general distribution but is "days" away if they don't find any more problems with it. It has some fairly cool features. The coolest is the speech-to-text stuff. Whole thing has worked flawlessly for me so far. "So far" is this morning since about 6:15 Kansas City time. I haven't discovered any bugs yet.

yeah right.

It is not going to be an OTA push. It is a Windows executable. It has to flatten the device. It is out of beta, and yes, Sprint is letting some of us corporate partners test it in the Kansas City area. As I said in the other thread: nothing earth shattering but it is 2.1 so you can run 2.0+ apps on it which is good. Nice conservative upgrade though. Congrats to Sprint.
