Post pictures taken with your second generation Moto X here

Just took this. Low light, no flash. Pic was snapped immediately as I tapped the screen. It almost felt too quick!

How are focus and shutter speed in low"ish" light?

To me, the focus, even when using the touch-to-focus is weirdly hit or miss regardless of lighting. Of course, it's worse with low-light conditions. I'm thinking the surprisingly fewer posts to this thread compared to what seemed like a stream of them with the OG X is because of the disappointing results with many pics. But I'm very optimistic that Moto will fix this one as well as they did with the previous one and that results will improve dramatically considering the sensor used in the Gen2 X.

I have actually found that the Google Camera works much better. I am able to use HDR and use focus in the app. Going forward I will use the Moto X camera for video only. Here is a picture I snapped using Google Camera with no filters.

Camera seems to work really well when there is good light.

I agree. I did some comparison shots and the Google Camera does a much better job with focus lock, etc. The stock camera tends to have too much motion blur, even in good lighting situations.

that's handy to know. So, you can use the stock camera for a quick shot, spur of the moment, but for the rest, you can use google camera, if you want a nicer option.

Exactly. The good news here is that this means Moto should be able to push a camera update out pretty easily since it definitely appears to be software related. That's encouraging for sure. I, for one, am pretty confident of this.

So this should dispel once and for all any notion that the camera is anything less than capable. This is 2x zoom.
