Post pictures taken with your second generation Moto X here

Looks like one camera app is set to 13mp while the other is 9.7. I'm guessing the 4:3 photos are Google camera.

Hmm... Good catch! I didn't realize the MotoX app was set to 16:9. Now I'll have to redo it with both set at 13MP. :D

They are rather close to each other at least in those lighting conditions. Maybe I'll bring my N4 too just for fun. :)

Moto X, no HDR. Edited with basic PC editor. Really low light. Only the tree lights in the background and my Nexus 7 screen for fill on the face.IMG_20150103_203935.jpg

Yeah it isn't bad. It's at ISO 800. I did have my nexus 7 inches away at full brightness for fill light so the exposure shouldn't be that grainy.

I just ordered a little tripod. Decided I wanted to play with mobile photography this year.

That's a really nice pic. The rocks in the background are nice & sharp. I doubt that my Canon camera could take a better picture than that. Did you use any custom settings other than HDR? Only thing about my Moto X-2 is that it has a problem locking the focus indoors. The "focus ring" display keeps going from white to green to white before I can take a shot. I noticed that Motorola issued a camera update the other day, which I installed but can't really tell any improvement so far.

Hello! Can someone help me? I am willing to buy a phone. First what I want is phone which takes good pictures with both cameras. As I know Moto X does not have flesh yes? How do you use it(who has that phone)? Can you show me photos taken with front camera? How does battery work? I like nexus 6 too,but there is much different with cost,So if someone can tell me, How big difference is between Nexus 6 and Moto x? I do not use any hard programs. I just need battery doing well and taking good pictures with both cameras. So if Nexus 6 is better, Is it worth to pay much more just for the camer? Looking forward for a reply. Thank you so much in advance!

sorry,which phone do you have?

Moto X-2, which is much simpler than typing "Moto X (2nd Gen)". I don't know why Motorola/Google named this phone a Moto X....confusing to some. To be honest, it's an entirely different model. Different screen size, different resolution, different camera, different internal components, etc etc. The ONLY thing they have in common is the curved back with options. The 2nd X is even made from aluminum instead of plastic. Add all that up & it sounds like a different model to me. In the past when Motorola would just slightly updated a model they at least would add a " 2" (Example>>> Droid X vs Droid X-2). To have 2 very different phones with the exact same name is stupid if not crazy. They pulled the same deal with the Moto G! If it had been up to me (& it wasn't) they could have at least named the Moto X 2nd Gen something like "Moto X Turbo" to distinguish it from the original X. Sooo, I call it the Moto X-2 as in 2nd "X".

Can you please share - which app you used or how you were able to set the ISO to 800 or any specific value? When I use an app like FV-5 (the paid version) or Camera+ or default app, the ISO adjustment setting is grayed out... or the ability to adjust the ISO value is not there...

Thanks!

Oh there isn't a way to do that. That's just setting the camera choose and I pulled it from the EXIF data.

I'm really disappointed the moto camera can't take advantage of the lollipop camera api and give manual controls. I wish there was an advanced setting that would open these up for people who want manual.
