I doubt that 3rd part retailers would have the phone before Verizon does UNLESS they sell it by mistake like they occasionally do. Otherwise, I'd assume Best Buy, Walmart, etc will most like have the same availability dates as the carriers. It's just a matter of getting your preorder the same day of official release or a day or 2 after in which case the phone would probably be available in your local Verizon or 3rd party store while we're waiting for our preorders LOL.

In for 16GB white. I did change my texting plan.. that shouldn't affect my unlimited data right?

Also, strangely, it wouldn't let me change the billing name (set to the primary user on a family plan). I put in my credit card number, should still work right?

I wasn't able to enter a name either when inputting my cc info. My account I in my father's name.

When I got the confirmation email it says bill to my father's name, but the cc is in my name.

Hopefully it still worked.

Pre ordered mine this morning. 32gb in Pebble Blue, was $301.XX on a secondary line upgrade, after $30 "upgrade fee" and taxes. Shows a "ship by" date of 7/9. I was able to keep all previous features, including unlimited data.

I was hoping to wait longer before making a decision on my next phone, but with the impending data changes looming I wanted to lock in to a 4G phone with unlimited data. I figure I can always sell this one later should I decide on a phone that is released later in the year.

I had to call in my order because the billing address on the account is not the same as the one I'm using to buy the phone. Online, it would only let me change the shipping address.

As long as you entered the correct billing zip code for the c.c. on the payment processing page, I think you should be ok.

I signed up for Verizon's updates on the S3, and got an email just now at 1pm announcing the preorders. Guess they were a bit slow with those..

yeah, I called due to the billing address issue and was told it was fine and had already processed. If you check your credit card, you should see an authorization with a $1 credit and then a $1 charge.

I hope you are right but that's what the rep told me. My card cycle ends the next few days, I don't like the idea of paying for it before the phone arrive in July.

I was told your card will be charged once it is shipped ...and will receive email prior too

I remember reading somewhere that Verizon will charge your card $1 to reserve your order and then charge the remaining price when the phone ships. Don't quote me on that but it would make sense. Same deal when you go and preorder anything else really. Legally they are not allowed to charge the amount to your credit card if it is not shipped.
