Pre-ordering with Best Buy

Got the "your preorder is delayed, we may have to cancel if it's not here by September 22" email.

I just checked my local best buy and they have the model I want available for in store pickup.... if I give up my Samsung credit, which I dont want to do.
I would give it up. Learn from this, use it as a learning experience. Best buy always has some sort of issue. I would get it from your provider if they have it available instead of giving BB business.

Haha, just got the notification that my phone is ready to pick up! I went back and looked at my posts from when I preordered my note 8, the same thing happened.

All this said, I preordered on the 22nd, it said it would be available on the 23rd. I'm not entirely upset that I'm getting it a day later than advertised, especially with the late preorder.
 
I had the same problem -- BB preorder with one new line. Received confirmation only for upgraded line. Went to store anyway. Both phones were available. Everything was a royal mess... they had to spend a couple hours with Verizon and BB corporate to get things going. Both lines had all manners of unspecified problems.

Shout out to the BB store personnel though... four of them got into a huddle, strategized what to do, and stayed on the line for a couple hours to finally send me out the door with two working phones.

From what I hear, this was the story across the board, in all stores, for all carriers. It was rare for them to see a smooth activation.

If you're in the same boat, recommend that you go in store and ask nicely... they do have the power to set things right even if it takes a while.

I went to the store and ended up with blue instead of my delayed glow. I lost my Samsung credit but at least I got the phone. This is the last time I order from BB. I usually order directly from Samsung or Verizon.
 
We did end up getting our new phones yesterday. After we had just sat down in the theater to see a movie, I check my email and see that the second phone order had finally changed to being ready. I texted the BB person and asked if maybe we could pick them up. She checked and said that we could. They ended up having to use new SIM cards other than the ones that came in the box. We were at BB for nearly 2 hours, but we left with new, and working phones! Enjoying them so far!
 
Well, I'm hoping that once they get going over here on the left coast this morning that I will get the email to pick my phone up today.
 
just a general question. If i have a preorder set to pick up on the 30th I can't just walk in and trade mine in for one they have in stock in a different color correct? well i can but i would lose my preorder trade in credit right?

Without going onto my long story of my experience from picking up my preorder, if it's less of a hassle to cancel and give up the $150 credit, for you piece of mind when you're picking up your phone, then I would cancel it. $150 is a nice gesture from Samsung, but is it worth the trouble to you?

Anything that changes the fact that you dont have the preorderd device because of something you do, will result in loss of the $150 credit.
 
My saga continues...

Yesterday I got a call back from the manager saying she was holding MY Blue N10+ in her hands and the Glow might not be ready for pick up... Made the appt to go pick it up. Got the email with the appt confirmation YAY!! after wasting my entire day on hold yesterday with BB I was putting this in the Win column

I go today (30 mins early) walk in and the rep says it may take a little longer because if the activation issue. No worries! Let's get started... He goes to grab one phone and comes back. I said I guess the other phone isn't in yet? He says "a 2nd phone?" yadda yadda I have the glow, what other phone?
MY blue phone the glow is got my MiL!

he goes to the manager that called me and they can not locate the phone!! I left empty-handed in full frustration.

I just looked at my email and it says it MIGHT be available on SEPT 6th!!! are you fricken kidding me?? The store told me they didn't have very many preorders so why do I have to wait two or more weeks?!?!?!?!

Its crazy to see everyone having such a different experience with BB. Mine was nothing but quick and pleasant. I hope yall get everything fixed, because there is nothing better than this phone so far in my opinion.
 
My last couple were with Samsung and I was suckered into ordering from Best Buy this time to get the Aura Blue Sprint phone. Live and learn. Tired of being last with updates with the Unlocked phone. Still haven't gotten the update with the Night mode on my Unlocked Note 9. Also still haven't gotten my Note 10+ from Best Buy.
 
Some of you guys have some major nightmares going on here.
Best buy is the one that usually has some kind of issue on preorders. They usually run a little better promotion, which gets more people to go thru them, which in turn creates some issues. It's always a gamble to go thru BB, some get them and others are in limbo. If having your phone on or before release day is important to you, BB probably isn't for you.

Same message I got, with no idea how long it'll take. I'm really considering taking a loss and not getting the Samsung credits and just buying the phone from a store. I really don't want to tho, I was looking forward to snagging the ear buds and another watch. September 22nd is a long time to wait for starters and than if they canceled me the wait would have been pointless.

I know this won't help you walk away, those Galaxy buds are nice. I'm getting another set for my daughter for her Xmas gift. Xmas shopping early this year
