Pre Orders in Southern IL and St.Louis Stopped for the Evo

I just had some friends try and pre-order the Evo from Best Buy and Radio shack both said they were no longer taking pre-order and the District Manager for Radio Shack said that 20k phones have been ordered for his district.

You better order now if you have not done so yet...

STL region is close to 3M and US population is about 300M. If info is true and pattern is consistent across the US, Radio Shack could be selling around 2M phones alone? Pre-ordered? Even 1M would be impressive from just one Sprint reseller.

If this sounds unrealistic, consider that most smaller towns have Radio Shacks but few/no Sprint stores.

Edit: Droid only sold 200K first weekend with heavy advertising and I think Incredible did about 300K. Would be bizarre if Evo blows it out by a 10-20X or more. If it does outsell Droid, it would indicate that Android itself is gaining mindshare as Sprint hasn't done major TV ads yet.
