Pre-Orders/Stores that Confirm Availability

to be fair it was NATIONWIDE. Just didn't effect each and every user. Verizon confirmed this.

NEWS FLASH: That was my whole point to begin with, for crying out loud. I"m begiging any one of the 3, of you, or all you, Please inform me of what is written in my post, in this thread that makes you guys think I denied there weren't outages, yesterday. This far and away is the most nonsensical series of posts I've ever encountered in any forum in the android community, the world over. This was funny, now it's just sad.

Guys What if the phone isnt released till January!! Then well never get one because the world is going to end 2012 !!!!!!! :( :( :(

maybe thats why the world is going to end in 2012... nerds are going to rage that hard!

Never disputed you. Never actually read anything you typed. I was just pointing out the fact it was a nationwide outage. That is all.

Well looks like the new rumor date is 12/15 but I'm sure it will be pushed back so don't even expect to stick on that date.

That's prolly what Verizon is hoping for lol.

Just got a call from my local Verizon store. Small Small town Iowa. She said that they had just received the nexus and she is putting one aside for me and that I can come in tomorrow and buy it. More than likely have not heard that it is delayed as of yet. My question is can she sell it early? Or will the SKU mess it up.

Thanks to all

Verizon will have that SKU locked so the transaction won't process. I'd inform this rep that you have heard there was a delay issued yesterday, ask if she received an email from corporate on the delay, and then ask if she still thinks she can sell it.

My bet is no. I'd love to be wrong though. Just trying to save a bunch of people a disappointing trip tomorrow.

Where in Iowa? I'm in DSM.

My local store didn't have any. I don't think they were lying as they went to the back and grabbed the live demo phone.

Maybe all this is due to a shortage issue. They didn't want to announce a launch when not everyone had inventory.

Small town Iowa rules! I'm in small town iowa as well. Let me (us) know what happens in the morning. I assume somebody will start a thread about their quest to try to talk store employees into selling one.

I just got back from Verizon as well, the sales person went into the back and brought out the Demo for me to play with, messed with it for 10 min. He said it was delayed and no idea of a release date. But is calling me on Monday to update me.

Ditto. Loved my ten minutes with it. She said she couldn't activate the phone yet. It was running off her mobile hot spot.

My local Verizon store in Phoenix has them in stock. They said they are just waiting for Verzion to give the ok to begin selling them.

I just left a Verizon store in phoenix to return my case and extended battery for my Rezound. I forgot to ask about the nexus.

So, all of you with "appointments", what was the excuse they gave on the delay? Or are your appointments good to go still?

The guy at best buy said they didnt have it yet and said he wished android would get just one good phone out on a expected release date.

Sorry.for the outburst, it boils down to the fact that I saw you cite my post. Moments after TJesus made me decide to take him to task for the way he chose to address a previous post. Had I not lost my lid, my response would've noted to you that I don't consider the LTE outage to be a nationwide issue. If you see what happened to all Blackberry phones several weeeks ago. That is what I consider a nationwide outage. What happened yesterday was spread over a large area, but the ground it covered, at it's worst was sporadic, spotty and regional. It did not blanket entire markets. It did not affect everyone, it was only really effective on a random basis. That's a regional event in my book. Nothing on a scale like BB dealt with. We all suffer coverage fallouts on a daily basis, on LTE. It seems like yesterdays was behaving in a manner that worried them in markets. I do find it odd that no one at corporate issued any kind of heads up for retailers cuz they might wanna be aware of a expqnding issue w/ the networks. I woule assume they would mention something otherwise they'd be fielding calls from customers and employees alike wondering what gives. I'm speculating but I find it odd that it was not an alarming enough issue to.pass along to retail managers. But then again, most of the things surrounding the GN have been unusual to say the least.

When I was hunting a Droid Charge I went to an authorized VZW store (not corporate) and had the phone in my hand, activated with my 4g sim card and I already started setting up my email, etc. When the guy tried to enter it in the computer to sell it to me, it wasn't there. He called his superior and that is when the S - - - hit the fan. Ended up taking my sim card out of the phone and leaving the store with my old TB. Then they actually released the phone on a Saturday and I was able to go get it....for the 2nd time. My point is it will be very difficult to get a phone early, but not impossible. I wouldn't rule out VZW letting them go unannounced like they did with the Charge.
