What's the downside to pre-ordering in that case? Only reason I haven't done so is to get a better deal via 3rd party but if I was using Sprint directly I'd want the no-hassle of pre-ordering today.

the downside to pre ordering is not getting the phone till monday and also i am under a family plan and will be pre ordering under another line so i dont know if i will still have to go to the store to have it activated under my line

confusing i know but please i need answers

Sprint sounded like they would meet or beat Sundays release date if you ordered today. Otherwise just call your local store and tell em you really want to give them a sale but you'd like to be sure you can get a phone. Maybe they'd work with you if you planned a pick up that afternoon on Sunday. Good luck!

Unless I win one, this is my plan:

I signed up for Best Buy's Phone Freedom so I am going there on Sunday.
With the program, they give you a $50 gift card for buying and activating a phone, and they allow you to use it towards the purchase of said phone. I also have a coupon for $10.
So $139.99 plus tax + the $36 activation fee to Sprint, and I am out the door for less than online with Sprint. :)
Easy peasy.

Unless Amazon or Sam's has a better deal, that is what I am gonna do.

Also, as I am in the Atlanta area, I won't have long to wait until they flip on the 4G LTE switch. :D

I'm excited for your LTE possibilities! I have a feeling that sprint is trying hard to under-promise and over-deliver with their LTE roll-out, so we are going to see an explosion very shortly of more cities with LTE than has already been announced. For example, I have been reading for 9 months in local papers, job listings, etc, about Samsung operating in and around Pittsburgh with regards to the LTE and network vision hardware installations. Even though Pittsburgh hasn't been announced yet, I tend to think it(and surely many other cities) will flip the switch within 60 days of the initially announced locations. Very exciting prospects.

I'm in the Atlanta area too and can't wait till they flip the switch. I hope LTE cover all the metro area

Since you are in Pittsburgh and I am in Atlanta, I will make you a deal.
You send me some Steelers gear, I will send you some LTE. ;)

Argh... I want to preorder but don't know if it's worth it. I want my $50 off at Best Buy.

Sprint just upgraded one of my lines early for me. They said the upgrade should show on my account within the next hour or two. As soon as it hits, I'm ordering
mine.

Update: Finally Ordered!

Legally speaking, only account holders can "add-a-line" on Sprint(or Verizon or ATT for that matter). To simply process an upgrade on an existing line, you need to be/have the following.
- You are added to the account as an Authorized User(meaning the account holder calls and asks Sprint to
add your Name to the account as an authorized user)
- You must know the 6-10 digit account pin OR secret question OR both social security number
of account holder and account address.
- Always have your valid state or government issued Identification card with you when administering
any cellular account in a physical store.

Once again, authorized users cannot add or remove lines, but they can process upgrades and change features on existing lines.
This is not to say that all wireless sales personnel follow or want to follow the rules.

Cannot wait to pick up a GNEX on SUNDAY!:)

Our account is in my wife's name and I walked into Bestbuy and Sprint and added lines and upgraded lines with no problem. I do know that I'm an authorized user on the account but the part when you state, "Once again, authorized users cannot add or remove lines, but they can process upgrades and change features on existing lines." cannot be that true or at least it isn't in my case.

It may be also because we're married too. idk. All I do know though is I can't wait for my GN :):)

Congrats to all of you who have eagerly waiting for Sprint to finally release this phone. I will probably be at my local Best Buy on Sunday playing with the GNex, but a decision on my next phone will come after Sammy's big event in early May. Congrats again to the future Sprint GNex owners!!!!
