Help me understand pre-orders at V, I am looking to switch over from Sprint.

Do they offer them online and in store? If online, do they have them 'available' like any other device with a ship date matching the release? If so, does the phone ship on release or do they deliver on the release day?

How does it work at the stores?

I hope this is true but won't hold my breath. As much as all the rumors have been floating around about this phone it is hard to believe anything anymore unless it is coming right from verizons mouth.

They're also stating that the VZW 2yr contract price is back down to $199 again. I sure hope this is true.

Well, there doesn't have to be preorders. Verizon could choose not to have preorders.

I would love for this to be $199 but why would it be unless it's a special holiday promotion? They Rezound and the RAZR are both $299. Is it a messed up way for Verizon reps to sell more R phones? "Well the Nexus is cool, but this RAZR is even better! It has a Gingerbread OS! Why is it $100 more? Because it's THAT MUCH BETTER!"

pre orders doesn't mean they will stick to a release date either, even if 12/8 is announced. It's just the first step to lock people in before they buy something else before Christmas.
