::Prepares Flame-******ant suit:: STUPID STUPID NEWB QUESTION ::palm to face::

There are a few ROMs out, and Super Clean comes with a slightly modified kernel, but not much else is available other than themes. It's still early I. The development, so just give it a little time

Kev, you, more than anyone has been such a big help man. I cant thank you enough.

thank you everyone else who's helped me. i really do appreciate it

2.2 is running SMOOTH! No complaints at all. My last question, as of now is:

With that 'update.zip', that is what is allowing me to "root" my phone, correct? If I wanted to run DL30_super_clean_07.zip on my 2.2 Fascinate, all I have to do is put it on my phone sdcard and run it the same way I did for the Froyo update? Will I need to connect to ODIN FIRST and run a zip before doing this or can I just put the file in the sdcard, take out the battery and skip the ODIN process?

If you boot into recovery and you have a red screen, then you just go to install zip from sdcard. no flashing needed.

The update.zip is where the Clockwork Mod Recovery lives... So rebooting the phone into the stock (blue) recovery, selecting "apply:update.zip" takes you into CWM (whether it's green or red). Anytime you want to flash a new ROM or theme, get into recovery and select "install zip from SD" just like you did with DL30 :)

Legit you are the man. Lol thanks. Ill be having fun tonight.

I downloaded a theme..got it on perfect. If I want to remove it or zip a new one, how do I go about getting it off?

Hey boogie
We were all noobs, you won't get flamed here. Hacking this phone is pretty daunting at first, but you will get the hang of it real fast, and don't worry about bricking, most all bricks can be fixed.

Yea it was scary not going to lie. Lol. I put a theme on but I'm not crazy about it so I'm wondering how I can go about taking it off..

i concider myself a fairly advanced user. i do stupid carp all the time, my phone spends as much time being a brick as a phone. lol. check this thread out speaking of stupid crap ive done:

http://forum.androidcentral.com/ver...t-happens-when-you-use-phone-button-odin.html

you can uninstall a theme. you can however flash a new theme over it.

Just flash a different theme over it or flash ur original rom to start from scratch.

So heres the deal:

I downloaded a new theme as well as the DL30_Superclean. I made a nandroid back up before uploading the new OS. Stupid question. I noticed during that back up, it backs up EVERYTHING. So me being a dumdum, I restored from my backup file and nevertheless, technically its how it was before I even downloaded the new system. I have been searching but with no avail. If I just want to back up the basics (some system settings such as ringtones, my texts, and apps without having to backup the WHOLE system) how would I do that?

back at it with another question for the wisemen/woman lol...

Im running the DL30 2.1 superclean...I've heard different issues with EB01...and im one where "if it aint broke, dont fix it". 2 things Im wondering...

1) Is there a way to get back the "screen shot" by holding the back button and power button? I thought that was awesome in the DL30 leak but its bloated so I dont want to revert back to that.

2) Is there a way to get Wireless Tether using DL30 based rom?

eb01 is much less buggie. you really should flash to that. there is a link on superclean thread for the screen shot.

forgive my ignorance but does that ALLOW wireless tether without having to get an app or is there something I have to download to have tether?

Rooting? It allows it per say. In the sense that, you can download an app from the market like Wireless Tether and give it Super User permissions so it can use your 3G signal as a WiFi hotspot without using the Verizon paid service.

Like pointed out though, DL30 has built-in parameters which essentially reveal you're tethering. Verizon could act on it, so it's use at your own risk at this point.

would using EB01 differ making it less noticable to Verizon?
