printing from Pixel 2

Hi all, need help to connect HP Officejet Pro 8610 to my new Pixel 2.

1. Installed the HP Print Service app, but it is unable to find the printer
2. Cleared the Print Spooler cashe and memory.
3. Have reset the network settings and reconnected the printer to the wifi network
4. Tried to manually add the printer using the name and IP address.
5. Rebooted the printer and the phone a couple of times
6. Reinstalled the HP Print Service app

Still no luck - HP Print Services app says "Searching for printers" for a while, then gives up..

Any similar experiences out there? Would appreciate some tips on how to solve, please.

P.S. I am able to print without any issues from a macbook to the this printer using the same wifi network

I'm thinking, some manufacturers have separate apps for consumer and business printers...

Thanks for your comment. This is a consumer printer. Prior to switching to Android I used it to print and scan from my apple phone using the HP Smart app.

I have the same problem with my P2, and just gave up. I sure hope that you find a solution and let us know!!

I have an HP home printer and I don't use the HP smart app. I just added it in the default printer service and it works

I also have an HP printer. I have used the Printer Share app with the premium key for my home printing. It works.

I use the HP print server plug-in with no problem ever at all. When it can't find the printer I will have to use the drop-down list. As you can see, I use multiple HP printers and sometimes I need to choose which one
