I thought Sprint owned a good portion of Clearwire. With all the trouble that company has been having in the financial sector, I think Sprint should sell the assets and switch to LTE. Which I will say atm is faster than WiMAX, but from what I'm getting from some guys I know at T-Mobile...there saying the their getting around 15Mbps down on a good steady average. With the goal of 69Mbps, which would awesome!!! We shall see though. ;-)

ok...does this (stupid) PRL number have anything to do w/me NOT being able to receive MMS??!!! i have been having this problem since easter sunday...not happy!grrrrrr
Sprint does own a large portion of Clearwire and they are not abandoning WiMax. Clear has WiMax2 up and running in Phoenix and Clear is working on a multi-capability (LTE/WiMax/3G) tower for both Verizon and Sprint... WiMAX 2 Heads Toward Standardization
I wish people would quit with the "I heard WiMax is dead and Sprint is going to use LTE" crap...Sprint has publicly stated they are sticking with WiMax...The "Wimax is dead" crowd reminds me of the "birthers" saying Obama wasn't born in Hawaii.
It is a very good chance, that you it could be something in the software. Have you tried the normal fixes for problems like that? I.e. power cycling, rebooting..etc... I do recall a couple of times before this whole thing started I wasn't able to send or receive MMS messages. Sprint did a factory reset which in turn fixed the problem, though I wouldn't recommend that unless you have a Nandroid handy.

FWIW, I'm in the Nashville TN area and have the new prl 01115 and haven't noticed a difference in performance one way or another.
I wouldn't imagine that you would. Nashville was unaffected by the recent service area changes.

Perhaps, but if Nashville were unaffected then why would they bother to change the prl while leaving others as the old 60678? I looked through the white papers (for lack of a better term) that were posted in the link I found the other day and the Nashville TN area (as well as other areas in surrounding Middle TN) was mentioned as one of the cities receiving a prl change and mine did change.
I'm in Chicago and just updated mine to 60678
Well, Sprint would send the PRL update out to every phone. Reason being...Sprint doesn't know where your going to travel. So if there were going to change thier service area they would have to send out an updated PRL so your device knows what towers to talk to.
