Problem with Casting Amazon Prime and Netflix

So last night I was trying to Chrome cast some Halloween shows for my kids from Amazon prime. The audio would play but not the video, so I tried Netflix and got the same results. The strange thing is that Google Play shows and movies, YouTube and videos I shot on the phone will cast without an issue. Also, tried hooking up a hdmi cable via the usb c to usb mini adapter but that did not work either, nothing showed up on the TV. I tried two different chrome casts and got the same results. Also, I made sure the apps were up to date as well as the chrome casts, rebooted my phone and chrome casts. I really hope I don't have to factory reset my phone to get them to work. Is anyone having a similar problem?

I have same problem with S8. Couldn't get Amazon video to cast on Note 7 last year either.

Install Google Home. You can then cast everything that happens on your phone screen - not just certain apps.

I also have had no luck with casting Amazon prime using Google home on my S8, nor the Note 7 when I had it.

Amazon Prime can't be cast with chromecast, only mirrored. Netflix should work fine.

Prime does not work when mirroring. Audio no video.I wonder if Amazon has some protection on it or is there a setting on the phone that needs to be adjusted??

Amazon has put a block on cssting so casting and mirroring is not allowed. Sending feedback to Amazon like a lot of other unhappy users are doing will help let Amazon know how consumers feel about this and hopefully cause a change.

it is all part of the Amazon/Google fight. Amazon bans Google's products and Google bans Amazon and/or refuses to allow Google products on Fire TVs. Like no YouTube on Fire TV without an amazon work around.

You can download the Movies Anywhere app and link it to your Amazon account as well as others like Google Play Movies, Flixter, and Apple.

When did Amazon start blocking casting? Casting and screen sharing are part of the OS and not a separate app.

Update: I successfully cast Amazon Prime to my TV with no problems. It seems to be a problem only if you are using Chromecast.
