Problems after 2.2 update - post here.

download "Quicksettings" app in market, it works well and can be left in the notification bar to get your "true silent mode" back.

doing that will elimate your phones ability to have a vibrate setting. Download "Quicksettings" app and you can restore your phone to having a volume, vibrate or silenced modes.

As far as battery goes mine hasnt been better than it is since the update. The one thing that I do is utilize Samsungs widget called "Power Control" where I turn off my sync. To the best of my knowledge base it prevents the phone from constantly looking for emails, none the less. My phone for the first time lasted for 14hrs + yesterday with normal texting and moderate internet use.

I had the camera issue, however after a battery pull that cleared right up.

My BIGGEST complaint is the texting noises, not haptic feedback because I have that turned off, if the phone volume is on the "clicking" noise is obnoxious. I have turned it off in the settings, however it then disables the phone dial pad from making tones.

I found the phone in total to be much faster and smoother than ever before. Internet is lighting quick and new setups in gmail are making me smile everytime I use them.

I fixed mine, try this if you have camera problems:

Its not terribly common, but there have been some cases where upon installing froyo and updating the camera, the firmware flash has messed up and broken the camera. Make no mistake, this is not a software issue. Its a camera firmware issue and the only way to fix it is to reflash the firmware.

Now, the camera software offers once. After that, if it fails, it isn't going to prompt again.

To get around this:

1. Download Launcher Pro from the market. Any cut and ADW will likely work too.
2. make a new shortcut, to an activity.
3. Scroll to Camera Firmware, and choose the second option (user)
4. Click ok. There is now a shortcut on your homescreen. Choose the third option, Phone to CAM FW Write. Put your phone down and do not touch it until it is done.
I have LP, made a shortcut, then i am lost. How do ya scroll to Camera Firmware???

It didn't work for me. :'(
Looks like it is not a camera firmware issue because my "Barcode Scanner" app work just fine.

installed the 2.2 update and then the flash player app from adobe. Worked fine.

Tried it today and it won't work. It says I need 2.2 OS. Tried uninstalling the app and reinstalling but get the same message.

Any suggestions

Bill

To get rid of the "clicking" noise when typing on the keyboard go menu=>settings=>language & keyboard, click on the text settings for whichever keyboard you are using and in those settings, uncheck audible feedback. No more clicking and you can turn on audio feedback in the sound settings.

I had such high hopes for this but unfortunately it didn't work for me.

Camera says Please Wait after 2.2

I am getting the same issue with the camera. I was able to fix the google force close issue. The scanner app works fine. Gallery delete multiples fine. Any help with the camera would be awesome. This thread helped fix my other issue - Thanks!

Download Flash player 10.2 from the market, open a browser window, click menu=>more=>settings=>enable plug ins and choose either on demand or always. If you choose on demand you will see a green down arrow inside a black box in the middle of any window that has a flash movie or vid. Click on that box and the movie or vid will play.

Fascinate froyo update problems

This update has been interesting; here some of the things i have been experiencing:
1) LauncherPro widgets did have to be "rebuilt"
2) Lots of hang ups/crashes; always cured by restarting phone. what a pain!
3) HUGE battery drain even with bluetooth, etc shutdown. cant seem to find what is causing the drain. anybody figure this out yet?

Hello. I was also having battery issues after the 2.2 update.

I have now unchecked the auto brightness settings and have manually selected a low setting (not the lowest, but close). I have also changed the brightness settings in the andriod web browser to a low setting.

Also did the battery "reset" thing where you fully charge it, then turn it off to charge more, then drain completely.

Turned off facebook notifications.

Set screen timeout to 30sec.

GPS and Wifi remain on, since I use them often.

Getting decent battery life again. I can make it through day.

Gmail and Pinct to zoom...out

I'm not sure this is a problem, but it might be if i'm not able to change it.

In 2.1, when I opened an email in my gmail account, I could zoom out and see the entire email in the screen. Gmail in Froyo is not allowing me to do that anymore. Any thoughts on how to regain the ablitilty zoom out/in on the email?

On my Fascinate, I was told by Gnomad how to use terminal and make a script in order to mount my Fascinate to my Mac computer. That thread has been closed (???) so I was wondering if anyone had any ideas. Since updating to Froyo the terminal method no longer works! I've heard of other users being able to connect without a problem after froyo. But I cannot get it to mount to my Mac either way! Any help would be very very much appreciated!

When I purchased my Fascinate none of my computers (Win 7 or XP) would recognize my phone to allow me to mount the SD card and pull off pics, videos, or other files. I took my laptop and phone in to the Verizon store to show them it wouldn't work and the guy that sold us the phone called support on the phone and tracked down something on the internet that made it work for my laptop. After I got the update ( 2.2.1 ) a few days ago I am back to the computers not recognizing the phone. Hopefully someone has some information or I guess I will be going back to the store.

Exact same problem

Updated to Froyo and now the Ford Sync Bluetooth phone system is no longer operating correctly for me. It takes the call off of bluetooth after about 20 seconds and goes back to the phone, despite saying it is still connected. I've had the car for 5 months and have never had a problem with the Fascinate syncing to the system. I've seen other posts about this with other devices going to Froyo, but is anyone here seeing this?

I had zero problems with Android 2.1 with Ford Sync in my Sable and now in a new Lincoln. As soon as I upgraded to Froyo my bluetooth went to hell with Sync. Took me many tries to get it to pair properly, and then I too had it disconnect me during a call, and Sync then announced "Phone disconnected". I didn't use it at all over the Easter weekend so I still don't know if it is totally broken or what. And if it disconnects while driving, you're screwed until you pull over and stop your vehicle and try to reconnect.

Al :(

Phone works great before 2.2 update, now about 8 out of 10 calls the phone will automatically answer after the first ring. Has anyone else had this issue? Any one know how to stop this?
