Problems with the UK GN

Re: Maybe these bugs are genuine? Vodaphone pulls Gnex due to iss

Which stage of denial is rationalization?

I think we are almost there!

Yeah no doubt... The Nexus One had hardware issues with the soft keys that were never truly resolved and the Nexus S had problems with random reboots. Every phone/ OS/ update has its quirks and most of the time everything is resolved shortly after.

Even Apple isn't immune from it (see AntennaGate, BatteryGate). It's what happens when you release consumer electronics to millions of people - some issues are going to pop up that slipped through testing. This phone is ready for launch. ICS is ready to be used. The only thing that isn't ready is Verizon...they want the RAZR to have its pedestal.

If you're talking about the stages of grief, I think the proper stage is "bargaining." I think it's somewhere in the middle....personally I'm stuck on anger!

Vodafone and Verizon are one.

Yes, but Vodaphone UK is GSM, and VZW is CDMA, which means the bugs may be software bugs with the actual OS, and not just kinks to iron out between the two versions.

You think I'm not?

I've been spearheading the Galaxy Nexus E-Riot on VZW's facebook page.

Yes, grief not denial, whoops!

I think we've hit all stages already though.

Also there's now a Vodafone section to the Market.

No wonder there's software issues... Is Verizon/Vodaphone seriously messing with the Nexus THIS much?! No one even uses their awful apps!! D:

Just a note about the Vodaphone section in the market. After I downloaded the updated market app there now appears a Verizon section in my market. I am not on the GN but on the og Droid. If you go into the market settings at least on the web you see that it has the phone specs including the network listed.

So perhaps this new section is something connected to the new version of the market and not to ICS or the GN cause I don't have either one but I now have a Verizon apps section. Of course you could always get a list of these apps anyway by putting Verizon in the search function.

Apps installing themselves:

I have all of my current apps set to allow only a manual install and I have the auto install option in the market settings unchecked to prevent auto install so perhaps this option needs to be set to prevent auto installs....not sure but just a thought.

And yeah with any software release there will be bugs so I expect to see somethings not working just right but I also expect the issues to be addressed. So since this is a Google phone we should see some updates from them if the issues are software related - at least I hope so.

Haven't we had a Verizon apps section forever? Except for the early days of GB ROMs? I know the original market on my OG had it from launch.

Maybe it was always there and I just never saw it, and with this update it is just now showing on the first page that is displayed after you select apps. It is there with Staff Picks, Games, and Editors Choice. Perhaps the only thing that has changed are the graphics.

Way better than it used to be, IMO. In the first and second designs of the market we saw on the OG it was one of the top tabs.
