I'm having trouble getting any of my old droid's video files onto my Gnex.

" file type is not supported on this device." error message.

Having trouble moving -AVI. , -MP4 , and -FLV Formatted movies even onto the device. where AVI/MP4 where both useable on my old droid.... and Blackberry.

I'm capable of transferring .WMV but not watching them without aftermarket Movie player.

I'm also incapable of even seeing the phone on a device list with USB Debugging enabled, and was unable to xfer anything over that way.

So... Any ideas on how I can get the Gnex to stop being "moody" and let me move the files over so that I can watch them on an aftermarket video player? -OR- as a last resort can anyone give me the optimal file type/size ratios so that I can spend the next like 4 days converting them to a file size/type the Gnex likes better?

have you tried RockPlayer?

I was using Mobo Player but it kept crashing. The few files I have tried with RockPlayer have worked fine with software decoding.

Yeah this is CRAP! I cannot sync video files via windows media player with my galaxy nexus...used to work fine with my DROID X. Please Fix This!

Someone mentioned that you need Windows Media Player 10 or greater to sync media properly. Could that be the problem?

Act1 seems to be working great. The google video player worked fine for .mp4 files and Act1 worked great for a .m4v that I ripped using handbrake.

No...Windows media player doesn't even sync it. Pops an error in the sync history. Music will sync...just not the video. Tried to manually load it but it doesn't play cause it's not in the supported format...I GET THAT...what I don't get is that WMP won't sync the video...used to do it with my droid x but not here so it is an ANDROID issue with this version...

Convert them with DVD Catalyst first.

I tried using handbrake for the conversions but have yet to find any conversion that lets mp4 transfer to the device... I've gotta be missing something here, as mp4 is the correct format, from what ive been reading

Or...

Did it ever cross your mind that a phone that came out less than 24 hours ago might not be supported by WMP?

The phone may have"just come out" but the software has been in development for sometime. It's not like they decided to whip up ICS on a Monday and put it in a phone and sell it on Thursday, there was plenty of time to fix this. Just my 2 cents.

I dragged a .MP4 .AVI .MKV files to my movie folder. Only file that would play .MP4
I have 2 Samsung LED TV's and love downloading torrent movies to stream movies from my western digital passport:)

Today I received a WMV attached to an email and it would not play. Its says "There is no installed app to open this type of attchment. Try downloading an appropriate app from Android Market." Seems odd that there is no native app for this on the phone.

Well, this is Microsoft we're talking about, after all...

I ripped a movie from DVD to MP4 then dragged it over into my videos folder, works fine.
