Purpose of the Lockscreen?

I have had a few android devices over the years and after owning the 6P for a couple of months I don't understand the purpose of the lockscreen now that fingerprint technology is available. The 6P doesn't have one that I noticed and to be honest didn't miss it.

On another note (see what I did there?) this phone would be absolutely perfect for me with a Nexus imprint type scanner on the back instead of the front like the S7 Edge.

Just press and hold the finger... It will bypass the lock screen as long as you aren't using smart lock.

Personally I prefer a front fps. Rear is a pain to use on a desk. One of the big reasons why I didn't get the 6p

Yeah, that's what I do, just not used to it yet, I end up pressing too long :) As for or the placement on the front.I suppose that makes sense, just need to adjust.

I didn't like using the 6p in my office for that reason. Any other time like at the gym the sensor on the back is a dream. I wish Samsung could add an additional to the back.

originally I had the V10 and I thought I liked a sensor on the back, but after having the S7E for a few days, I prefer the front
