[RADIOS][VZW] Galaxy Nexus Radios and Installation Guide

Re: [RADIOS] Verizon Galaxy Nexus Radios and Guide

Meh, mine are about the same. I live in a fringe area though, I'll check tomorrow and see if there's any difference. Hand offs look good so far.

I just HAD to have the newest ones, I wasn't having any problems anyway, lol

What is it about "new" stuff? The frenzy to download and install. It baffles me. I installed it PRONTO though.

Re: [RADIOS] Verizon Galaxy Nexus Radios and Guide

Just flashed, getting an average of 28mbps down and 16mbps up at home, down is 8-10mbps higher than normal at home. I get mid 20's at work so it will be interesting to see speed there. I also have places on my long journey to work from West Valley of PHX to the East Valley of PHX where I will test these new radios, I know exactly where my non LTE spots are.

Re: [RADIOS] Verizon Galaxy Nexus Radios and Guide

Flashed the official 4.0.4 radios on top of Liquid 1.35 and everything is running great. Thanks zero and DT.

Re: [RADIOS] Verizon Galaxy Nexus Radios and Guide

Just flashed them on AOKP M5 with zero problems. Everything seems good, but the real test is when I get home to my low signal area.

Besides, couldn't have those damn non-rooters with something newer than me!

Thanks zero, DM, and DT. This whole unlocking, rooting, and flashing thing has been a breeze due to the information shared by the great folks on this forum.

Re: [RADIOS] Verizon Galaxy Nexus Radios and Guide

Flashed over AOKP M5 as well... all is good. Instantly went from -81dBm to -75dBm.. nothing major but I'll take every little bit that I can get :p Need to still do some testing in low coverage areas.

Yeah, I'm just "compelled". I don't know why. I just HAVE to. It's fun to be one of the first too, especially if it turns out bad and you've got to reflash old stuff just to try again, and end up setting your device back up like three times in a row, lol

I think those war stories are what scare the noobs sometimes. There's almost always a way back though, they've heard the term "brick" one too many times I believe. It's an adventure! The best way to learn something is to make a mistake.

My only regrets about getting into all of this a few years back, is the "habit". As much as I'd like to think someday I'll kick... I know that isn't true :'(

Re: [RADIOS] Verizon Galaxy Nexus Radios and Guide

btw the handoff between wifi-4g-3g is blowing me away. And i haven't lost my wifi signal (in a school dorm where the wifi is intermittent and lousy) once since flashing the new radios.

Same. The WiFi signal is extremely strong and i'm now reading 4G in a deadspot in my apt complex. Was blown away that I was able to maintain spotify ;).

Im on it now... Just did my backup and im on to flashing..

Re: [RADIOS] Verizon Galaxy Nexus Radios and Guide

I flashed the new radio/bootloader this AM too. At work which has always been a lousy area for any smartphones I had (incredible, and dx).
The new radio's made a little difference will know more when back on my home turf.
However I can definitely see a lot stronger WiFi's connection then I did yesterday

3G/LTE handoffs are nearly instantaneous now. In the past, it could take well over a minute to switch. (I'm in an area with good LTE and 3G service but keep data on 3G most of the time.)

I flashed the FC04/FC05/bootloadee radios on BAMF Paradigm 1.25 and its been super solid for me. 3g/4g hand off has been great and getting around high 60's dbm compared to low 80's with the older radios. I think I found a winner.
