Radioshack Employee here, taking questions about Pre Order/Buying Process

I have a sweet deal going with a $20 recurring credit. If I open up a new account and cancel the account and switch over the phone, radioshack will get dinged and I'll probably get charged the full price of the phone anyways. Too much trouble in my opinion.

I'm just going to go in show my id, give my pin, and renew the contract, all with my dads permission. No harm intended.

I just don't understand how he will lose his job if he just doesn't know.

Have your dad call the store and sprint to give them the ok. That's what i would do
 
on a side note, does RS charge "miscellaneous fees" or will it be the straight up $199.99+tax-$10 survey coupon out the door?

Sure it wasn't an employee scamming a customer, that I can believe. People are amazingly gullible and I've seen some pretty evil employees. (Luckily they get rooted out quickly)

Will be 199.99 + Accessories - 20$ - 10$ + Tax = Total

All radioshacks are suppose to have a sign at ALL counters "How are we doing" with a phone number. If its normal business hours 8-5pm, call it right there in store (ONLY IF YOU ARE SURE!!!!!!!) Dont make a scene if its just confusion, let them explain it.

Just get pretty dang close to 20. I mean a car charger will get you right at 19.99. If you only care about screen protectors, just get some other random crap at the store with them.

Just requires one minimum accessory + other stuff to fill in.

Its just that the 20$ cannot be used to make the phone its self cheaper. (They will get fired for the most part.)

The 10$ on the other hand can negate the phone cost. Personally I'm getting a new Igo Tip, screen protector and a case. (We're told they're suppose to be avail by launch.... hope so)

When I printed out the coupon for $10 off a $40+ purchase for doing the receipt survey, it didn't print a barcode or any type of coupon code. Is this normal? I've never used one before...thanks!

No, should have a barcode. Is there at least a long long series of #'s ending in RS?

If not, your coupon is useless.

And no they wont be able to use it.

Go back in request a email coupon, its another for sure method of getting a coupon. (Can do it on the phone too)

And also, no, they cannot use 2 coupons.
 
^ Hmm...no, there is no series of numbers. It is just a black and white image that says "RadioShack Get $10 Off a qualifying in-store purchase of $40 or more".

I wonder why...I did the survey on the receipt and thats is what printed out.
 
for those of you wondering. yesterday (26) was the last day for preorders in the norcal region. it was in our webmail today...forced me to preorder mine today =D cant call that a problem though.... if you live in redding CA come into the shack on hartnell and cypress!!! talk to forrest!!! =D

If I open up a new account and cancel the account and switch over the phone, radioshack will get dinged and I'll probably get charged the full price of the phone anyways and I don't want to risk messing with my account too much since I have a Pick 6 + FIMF + 5pm nights going. Too much trouble in my opinion.

You do realize you may have to change your plan? EVO's require an everything data plan.

Just because you don't understand it doesn't mean it can't happen. I don't understand why you believe that you getting a phone faster is worth risking someone's job. But hey, thats just me.

1. I already have the Everything Data plan...all those perks are for the ED 450 plan

2. I just don't believe that I'm risking their job...but that's just me. Especially when they said if i knew the pin, I was ok. And now I find that the $50 card is non-refundable. If they person specifically told me that my father HAS to be there, I would have pre-ordered elsewhere.

Called the RS store, the manager said they are hearing from corporate that they may open 6am Friday morning to launch the EVO.. He will know more later..

Not sure how much this is true.. but I don't think I need it that bad at 6am :)

I am currently on the radioshack employee plan for sprint. Do you know if they are going to have the EVO for the current plan or is it going to be a special plan? I just want to do an ESN swap.

EVO's are not allowed on employee plans. It may be a while before they lift that ban.
 
i was in my local RS yesterday and the employee there also stated that they were advised via corporate email that they will be opening at 6am .. but it was not confirmed as of yet by er manager .. she advised me to call back in on tuesday to make sure 100%

they also had a dummy demo phone in the store .. dam its nice .. but the thing is Big and has some serious weight to it .. gonna be a change coming from a tour ... size wise
 
So I just called my RS and they said they would be opening up at 6am on the 4th. I asked if they would be making appointments...they said yes they would start making appointments later today. I asked if I could just make mine now and they were nice and said sure...they asked what time I would like to come in and I said 6am! Duh! He said how about 7? What? Which is fine, but the question is for you RS managers and employees would I be able to walk in earlier like 6:30 and them get me set up? I just can't imagine anyone in my area flooding the place, it's a smaller community.
