Re-establishing mobile connection?

Recently was in a village with no mobile signal so no connection when trying to use the phone. Moved onto to a nearby village where there was a mobile signal but the phone (Samsung S20FE) still unable to connect until I flicked Flight Mode On then Off again (there were solid signal strength bars but no connection type symbol such as 4G, H+ etc)

Two questions: Should not the phone re-establish connection automatically when it detects a mobile signal?

Secondly, is flicking Flight Mode On and Off the recommended way to force re-connection?

Hi there. It should reconnect when it sees a signal and yes flicking to Flight mode briefly can help

I think this has happened to me as well -- I figure it has to do with how poor the signal is. If it's pretty weak, it might take a little while for the phone to reestablish the connection.
