Received 5.0.2 today

Makes sense, I assume then we will see a 5.1.1 soon enough, at this point any progress is welcome although I've had few and very intermittent issues and I would still buy another N9 right now if I were faced with the option.

Mine did the boot animation for about 30 minutes before I finally held the power button and forced a restart. Took about another five minutes after that, but it finally booted and started optimizing apps.

Maybe just placebo, but mine is running beautifully since yesterday. No more freezing, and the wifi connection has been rock solid.

Same here. Once I downloaded it and went to install it shows error. Have to reboot it after that. Not sure if I need to wipe and start over.

So, last night I went to check with mine - 'check for update' clicked. Was checking, then the screen just flashed and it shut off. When I turned it back on (no update was installed) it sat there on the spinning color thing for a good hour. Same thing a few times over. Finally it went to the green android you see with a factory reset which is precisely what it did. Everything gone, all my settings, customizations, etc. Gone. As of this morning I am having to set everything back up and am still on 5.0.1 and it does not see any update available.

I have had this for a couple of months now and have had ZERO issues. None of the complaints that seem fairly popular around here. Needless to say kind of upset. Has anyone else experienced that in checking for this update or was my situation just a fluke do you think?

Move download fine. When it starts to install it shows the little green android figure with error under it, and stops there. Remit after that, then wait for upgrade again. Any ideas.

The same thing is happening to me. Every few hours I am getting a notice that there is an update available so i download it and hit the install button it reboots starts to install for about 3 seconds then the error comes up. Getting a little frustrated

As Phil stated, its just a stepping stone to 5.1.1 :)
Seeing it on the official developer's page & hitting tablets via OTA is Very good news - the wait for 5.1.1 may be right around the corner ;)

The OTA hit my tablet this morning. Downloaded, installed, and optimized without any issues. I haven't had a chance to use it after the update, so I cannot comment on any difference in performance, but I'm not really expecting to see any difference until 5.1.

Just got the update also, it does feel much smother.

I'm going to wait a week or two before declaring anything and wait for any shock and awe at the update to wear off but it seems smoother indeed but there's no kernel update so I'm not sure how oom killer issues are "resolved" other then perhaps they (pardon ignorance) reniced the home app to have a higher priority.

Well I called Google about the problem with 5.02 and after wiping the device and having the same problem, they decided to replace the device. Go figure..

I just got the prompt & updated with no issue (total time from download to useful tablet again was about 15 mins).
I can honestly say its a bit snappier :)
I use the Nexus 9 Every day (sense just after launch) so I've become accustomed to the lag when swiping away running apps & other little annoyances which now seem to have vanished :)
I'll run her today & report any issues.

I'm having the same problem. Google couldn't figure it out. It won't reset or shut down. HTC wants me to mail it in for repairs. All for a stupid update.

Its bootlooping?
If so then I'm sure they walked you through these steps, but just in case try holding the power button down for 30 seconds.
Let me know if anything happens
