Ok so now this is getting beyond ridiculous and it seems like depending on who you talk talk to the story is different every time so I thought I would create a thread for us to start gathering our information of what we are hearing on the street. As we all know a few very awesome people (enjoy your day in the sun guys!) have already scored this phone and are enjoying it as the rest of us sit and wait for the morons upstairs at VZW to give the green light. If you know anything about the launch, delay, reason for what is going on, or any other useful information feel free to post it here.

We all need to get together and pool our resources. If nothing else it will give us a way to pass the time...

Thanks for the info on that response. That may be worth a try, but I haven't had much luck with this sort of email notification from Verizon. The Thunderbolt notification email, for example, came to me after they were being sold. Might have better luck with Samsung on Twitter, as I suspect that Samsung is more anxious to get the word out than Verizon.

yea those email notifications suck! i signed up for them for the thunderbolt atrix etc. always come a few days after the launch. youd think they would come sooner.

My local stores: (monmouth county nj)as of 5/4
Best Buy-has but cannot sell
radio shack- "we have the droid." "the charge?" "o i don't know which that one is" haha
Verizon: have but cannot sell

i will try calling again this morning on my break at work when they open.

So I just got back from a Verizon store and the guy there (who I have worked with in the past) said that he has strong reason to believe that this may turn into another Thunderbolt type delay. He could not give me any reason as to why it is delayed but he has information from his manager that this delay could drag on for a while. I am hoping that this is not the case but it is starting to look more and more likely. Anyone who hears differently please share otherwise guys buckle your seatbelts we may be on this ride for a while.

Yesterday someone mentioned that it wouldn't launch until the end of the summer.

Perhaps to hold off any more people with unlimited 4g data, but if that was the case they would not have had it ready for release last Thursday.

I don't see this turning into a Thunderbolt type delay. Mostly because the key difference is that Verizon officially announced this thing. It wasn't like some third party in bed with VZW on this hit the street and started telling secrets the morning after.

This phone is totally turning into another t-bolt. End of May the new and improved Bionic will drop.

best buy/radioshack/vzw would not sell it today buy all have them in stock. perhaps tuesday?

This delay is out of control. If they push it back much further it's going to loose it's relevance and appeal..it's struggling to remain relevant as it is.

Wow I'd hope that was just an exaggeration if it wasn't well they've doomed the Charge as Bionic will most definitely steal the show from it..

My local Verizon store (i know the mgr well) said the delay was radio related. So I wonder if its more to do with the outage last week and perhaps they want a firmware release ready to roll. The ThunderBolt (I sold mine already) was due to get a firmware update yesterday and that is delayed now. So it begs the question is 4G LTE even working with 3G/4G hand offs, working well at all etc.

Verizon sold 250,000 ThunderBolts in the last quarter which pretty much means they sold them in one month which is pretty nice. Too many phones to quickly, who knows.

Interesting as some users on here that have the device say 4G is working well on it. Another case of the masses (in this case only a few actual folks with the device) know more then the mothership.

OK....THATS NOT HAPPENING.

Why would they have shipped all these phones and not sell them until summer? That makes no sense and is a waste of time for all the stores that have to hold them. Bionic is back in design phase and likely wont be out until late summer. The Charge will be selling well beyond that!

As for people buying at best buy, that is true, but they also paid full retail price for the phone, and had to hunt for/beg stores to even do it.

I was at VZW and Best But yesterday and today. both have the phones, both let me see the phones, but neither will sell or commmit to a sell date.

The one I checked out at my local store (Mgr told to remove it from display on Tuesday) was working but no 4G since we are waiting for go live this summer. Still the phone works.

I think Raptor007's information may be the best. There is still something wrong with LTE 4G, and they are not going to roll the phone out until it is 100%.

I was able to buy it at best buy with an upgrade for $300. The guy sold it to me as if it had been out for months.
