Hi,

Just wondering if it's worth splurging on a remote?
I just bought a shield and realised again that I would need a lot of sideloaded media apps since I live in a country where content providers are not really Android TV-savvy.
Is it possible/a decent experience navigating with a cursor with the remote or should i go the airmouse route?

It comes with a controller, which is a lot more bulky than the remote, but a lot more useful, and the battery lasts tons longer. There's nothing that the remote does that the controller doesn't also do. I regret buying the remote, I ended up giving up on it.

I got the remote with mine and I think it's great, I haven't even used the controller on mine yet.

How does the headphone jack work on this thing. I plugged in some ear buds and nothing. Was watching Netflix through my receiver at the time. Any settings I need to adjust? How? Thanks.

There's no settings you need to adjust, all you need to do is just plug them in and you should be able to hear. I have found that the audio is usually out of sync when using the headphones though.
