Also, when you installed the drivers, did you double click on the package that downloaded in order to complete the installation process?

Let's try flashing just the DL09 package by itself and hope your partitions are in tact. Close ODIN, unplug phone from USB cable, reopen ODIN place DL09 tar file in PDA section, no checkmark in re-partition box, click start.

I'm trying to figure out why your MD5 hash value keeps showing as invalid. You are putting these files in the PDA section as is correct? You are not extracting the files? So when you place them in the PDA box the file name ends in .tar.md5 correct? Here are the trouble shooting tips from DroidXcon's thread. Make sure you have checked all of these.

Resolution
90% of problems associated with Odin are due to communication between phone and computer

Reboot your computer
Redownload the odin package
Use USB ports in the back of the computer, if you already are use a different port
Make sure you did not forget to remove battery from phone (Should be out the ENTIRE process)
make sure Odin is the only application running and Antivirus is DISABLED
If you are using a laptop make sure its plugged in also find the nearest desktop and try from there

Did the phone boot successfully? If not let us know. I'll be up for just a little bit.

Just to mention it, if your phone did boot up you have escaped by the skin of your teeth from one of the worst ways to brick your phone.

i haven't been able to boot fully but it boots straight into recovery mode which im going to attempt to recover with the update.zip

anyone disagree's with this Please tell me now before i go deeper into the abyss

I don't necessarily disagree with trying that out. But chances are it will fail I'm thinking. So trying the method Landshark gave you didn't work, it failed?

the method landshark gave me had errors witht he md5 hash and odin would not allow it to install

When you have odin open, take the battery out of your phone, holding down the volume down button while plugging into usb port... the yellow triangle appears putting you in download mode correct? Then in Odin, does the upper left square turn yellow and the text below it show "Com #" (the # isn't the same for everyone) That's how you know you have a connection between Odin and your phone.
