I can tell you one thing im not doing this stuff till i have a gurenteed recovery system lol

I hear you lol. When flashing the proper files it's really not too hard and nearly everything is easily fixable. Seems you really did a number when you flashed that international firmware!

So when you're ready, put the DI01 package you just downloaded in the PDA section of odin (making sure you know there's a connection between the comp and your phone) Once you're there hit start, I think this will work.

Nothing would have been guaranteed with what you were flashing. we are model i500 you were flashing the european version which is i9000. they look the same but are not.

If you would have been flashing a i500 ROM, you would have all kinds of easy recovery stuff to choose from

You may need to do a *228 option 1 and 2 to activate your phone properly before being able to proceed with the OTA updates.

The update to EA28 shouldn't take to long, the update to Froyo 2.2 (ED01) that one is a much larger update and takes a bit longer, but I recommend it!

That's a good sign at least. I've got a link for you.

This is the most effective problem fix that I know of, but it's an invalid release. Flash the stuff in this thread, then flash that DI01 firmware if this will boot up properly.

Other ideas include
Flash these files multiple times just to be sure they take properly.
Clear your cache, dalvik cache, and wipe data/factroy reset multiple times.
The MD5 sum problem you were seeing earlier might have been caused by a bad download.

After a major purge like this booting up can take 15-20 minutes depending on contents of the phone.

Edit: jeez this thread grew fast.

Awesome, alright do me a favor, keep me updated through it all until you are officially booted up on the Froyo 2.2 ED01 update. I want to make sure this indeed worked properly for you! What point are you at so far, has that update finished downloading/installing?
