I recently unlocked and rooted my HOX+ and installed TWRP as my recovery.

After much reading and thinling I ``went for it?? and flashed a custom ROM, ARHD 8, after making a backup of stock OS in case of any meltdowns.

All went well with ARHD and appears to be working ok.

Question.... when I boot into recovery and click the ??restore?? button in TWRP there are no files to restore, any suggestions why ??
I only looked out of curiosity in case I wanted to restore.

They show on the ??sd card?? when I explore within TWRP but not if I press the restore button, CONFUSED.

Cheers

I'm going to install TWRP on my device and see if I can reproduce the issue. If the files were successfully backed up when you hit "backup" then the files should be detected for a restore - I'll post back within the hour after I get it up and running.

OK, thanks. The backups show on ??sd card?? when device is connected to laptop AND when I look at ??sd card?? while using TWRP with device in recovery mode. ????

Found them...
Kind of hard to explain but... When I copied my two backups, prior to flashing ROM, to my laptop for extra security, I created a folder and put them in there and also put them back onto sd card. The reason I figured this out is because a backup I'd made since flashing ROM was visible when pressing restore button I'm TWRP.

So..... to cut a long story short, I moved my two early backups to the folder that contained the more recent backup with ES File Explorer and...... bingo, all three backups can be seen when pressing restore button in TWRP.

The folder they are in now, and should have been in, is named after the serial number of device.

That's good to hear! I just checked back in to let you know that I'm having issues with my device (power button issues) and can't get TWRP installed right now. Good to see you get things sorted out.

So you are saying if i take the factory reset Nexus 7, install TWRP and root, do a backup of the tablet even though there is nothing to backup but basic android, then move the old backup from my computer to the folder with the new backup, it will recognise both?
