Restoring a Calendar from an S8 to an S20

Hi,
Just bought an S20 to replace my S8.
Transfer has worked very well apart from my Calendar.
I backed up my calendar on the S8 using my Samsung account and restored it to the S20.
It worked, however it has restored around five years of reminders prior to today. That's an awful lot to manually go through and delete.
If I wiped the calendar, are there any settings I can use to simply bring back active reminders from today ?

Interesting as Samsung back up and restore doesn't work any longer since the s8 series

Thank you. So I am puzzled why Samsung brings down around 6 years of calendar data that my phone doesn't display ?

I moved this to the S20 Forum in case any members there bumped into this issue

So I can see if other methods are working, I need to be able to delete all the calendar entries.
I am struggling to find out ho w to delete all the entries. I have gone to 'Apps' and cleared Data and Cache but they still appear.
Any thoughts on how to delete everything so I start again.
