[Retired][ROM]Superclean 2.9.2 EA15/EB01/EB16/EC10 Based

Just read the article on Task Killers on the Android Central website, and was wondering if you guys are running a task killer with this build (2.9)?

system and database stuff gets left from rom to rom and flash to flash. if stuff is getting dorked up after all he has done, then he need a deeper clean.

Yes this I understand. It looked like he was asking how to get SC 2.9 on manually without using DroidXcons Odin packages. Where as he was at stock EA28 I wanted him to know he had to first flash CWM Red All in order to flash SC 2.9 manually.

:)

Hell NO!!! NEVER!!!

haha. love the response.

I've read some of the posts (Streater's, Adrynalyne's) on battery life, and know its a problem, and I have done the things recommended. Didn't know if anyone had any luck with anything aside from what was listed (open/close maps, turn gps off, toggle airplane, *228, etc.) to get a little better battery life.. I went down to less than 10% last night for the first time since owning my phone..

Didn't know if a TK would help out with battery that is why I asked..

Well crap. Still have the Wifi issue. I can fix it by flashing EB01 Kernel over EB01 kernel, but any ideas why this is happening? As a reminder this worked once with the same SC 2.9nv file. I simply flashed over 2.8 after a data reset/wipe and wiping the caches.

Any ideas Gunnermike (or anyone else?) Why the bleep would flashing EB01 kernel over EB01 Kernel fix this?

There is not much I'm not willing to do, like format the SD card. The things I care about are backed up off the phone in one form or another.

Or should I just flash the EB01 kernel and call it good. I feel good that this is clean build from the formatting we/I did. Plus I have already spent a buttload of time on this. But I don't mind doing something for the learning experience either. I'm willing to let this go and see how 3.0 goes.

I'm going to hold off making any changes to see if you what you or anyone else have to say. I have not even run the Google setup yet.

I really appreciate all the help you are giving me.

I took me a couple of tries but I got 'new' CWM recovery on there and it boots right into red recovery.

Seems like battery life is looking good. I've used the phone a little bit and still says 100.

There were reports before of the EB16 Kernel breaking Bluetooth. I had this issue where I would enable it but it would not enable. This was for SC 2.6 to 2.8 I believe. If you wanted bluetooth you had to flash EB01 Kernel.

Now that being said people reported being on EB16 with bluetooth working. I had flashed EB01. Got my bluetooth working. Then I flashed EB16 which was supposed to break it but it never did. Bluetooth was still working.

If however I went stock clean setup and went direct to SC 2.8 with EB16 Kernel Bluetooth would not work.

So my guess is that if you had functionality working in a previous Kernel and then flash a new one that functionality may just may stick? Not get overwritten. I am not sure just my thoughts from my experience.

Actually I had this same issue in 2.8. It was only the first install of SC 2.9 that that WiFi worked with no extra flash. On 2.8 I flashed back and forth quite a few times before saying what the hell I'll sit on EB01. But I also had poor battery life and Clock lag on 2.8. But I'll try the flash to EB16 and back Never know the Android gods might smile on me.

well we are flashing leaked rejected software. it does wierd stuff some times. i have found that reflashing stuff solves a lot of problem.

Reflash it is. If that doesn't do it I'll fall back to just flashing the EB01 kernel which always works.

I'm no stranger to the whole leaked thing. I have 3rd party firmware on my phone, my wireless router, and my MP3 player. And I run Linux on an overclocked computer.

Thanks again

I flashed EB01 Kernel and as usual that fixed it. Then for giggles and to try suicide's idea I reflashed 2.9 and the Wifi issue came back.

Anyway I'm happy/satisfied with what I have. Battery life seem good and while it's only be a short while the clock seems to be staying accurate.

Mucho thanks to everyone who gave ideas.

Now I can go back to watching the 'front' of this thread.

Quick question: Is the screen capture apk included in 2.9.1? I noticed that it's not in the list of patches in the first thread...

You do know that the eb01 kernel is what is in 2,9, right?

Same, exact kernel.

Yes I am aware. I'm stumped on why it takes flashing EB01 kernel over EB01 kernel to make Wifi work. I've probably done about 15 installs to get it so it doesn't need the flash to make Wifi work. The kernel works on other EB01 builds like DroidX's Stock EB01-root-CWM pkg and the stock EB01 Engineering build but when I flash SC 2.9nv Wifi breaks again. I flash the EB01 kernel and that fixes it. If I reflash the SC 2.9nv build it breaks again. Flash EB01 kernel, fixed. Wifi goes wonky with DroidX 2.9 ppkg (the wipe version)

I've never had a theme on this phone or a voodoo kernel.

I had the same problem with the EB16 2.8 build and after some troubleshooting with you, you had me flash the EB01 kernel which fixed it.

I would love any ideas you might have. What I have now is working well. Good battery life, and no clock lag. I appreciate all the hard work you put in and these builds just keep getting better and better.

Hope you are feeling better.

Edit to add: This worked once. My original flash from 2.8 to 2.9 which I did with data/factory reset and cache wipes. WiFi started right up with no 'extra' flash.

Yes it is still included in 2.9 because I have used it. 2.9.1 is just a patch to take care of what is listed below it. You can follow all the change logs from before 2.9 in Adrynalyne's previous monster superclean thread here:
http://forum.androidcentral.com/ver...eturn-stock-remove-system-apps-other-how.html
Then read the changelog for 2.9 in this thread. He does an awesome job of keeping everyone informed of changes he makes through these changelogs. Once you see he has added something in and he doesn't mention removing it in a subsequent changelog, it is still there.
