[Retired][ROM]Superclean 2.9.2 EA15/EB01/EB16/EC10 Based

So I took a sip of the Koolaid...Rooted & put on SC 2.9. Mad props to the devs, everything went super smooth (first time root n00b). The only issue I'm currently having is trying to open either Excel or Word files. I tried Docs to Go, Office Suite Pro (Trial) and Thinkfree Office (Lite). I'm having the same problem with all of them. Every time I open a file from an email attachment from my Exchange account I'm getting an error about document failing to open or document corrupt. I've tried with several different files which I emailed under separate emails. Same problem with all 3 of the different Office Suite products...
Any ideas?
Thanks again to the devs, so far this thing rocks but I need to solve this problem or I might have to flash back to stock.
TIA

Bump, Anyone have any thoughts on this?
I tried forwarding the email from my Exchange mail account to my Gmail account and the attachments open fine. Any known quirks with email attachments on SC 2.9???
I never had this problem on my Eris or on my Fascinate prior to the 2.9 root and flash.
Anyone...Bueller, Bueller???

So if I flash the DL09 modem via Odin, I assume I will have to wipe data and redo everything? Do I flash DL09 and then flash the SC 2.9 then 2.91? What is the process if I have to go back to DL09?

I believe you are only flashing the modem not the ROM so you prob wont have to wipe data/cache but i may be wrong.

Is there a step be step process on how to install the 2.9.1 patch?

1. Make sure you're on 2.9 already - check your notification shade.
2. Put the patch .zip on your sd card
3. Reboot into recovery (red)
4. Go to choose .zip from sdcard, find the patch .zip, run it (power button for select, menu softkey for back, volume rocker for navigation...home button sleeps/unsleeps the screen). All just like you flashed 2.9

5. Check out the gps patch at http://forum.androidcentral.com/verizon-fascinate-rooting-roms-hacks/65948-rom-superclean-2-9-1-ea15-eb01-eb16-based-36.html#post702620 and think about giving it a try! (same instructions)

2.9.1 patch already has the GPS fix included

I finally grew a pair and rooted (Super Clean version 2.9 - EB01/EB16 Froyo leak root+Froyo Clockworkmod)... Followed DroidXcon's tutorial and in a few minutes I was done!... My jaw dropped when I rebooted and was treated to this awesome honeycomb animation. My phone is finally performing how it was meant to! Only thing I'm complaining about now is that I cant put it down!! lol
Thanks to all the developers and people who bust their a$$ to give us all this "awesomenss".

Give me a breakdown on how to reproduce this.

Ever since 2.8, I've had an issue where the tray is unresponsive. I'm referring to the bottom row of icons on the homescreen. When the phone is plugged in and charging none of the icons on the bottom of the screen respond to any touch. Any ideas?

bump for any kind of input.

I am a user not a technie--words like root, rom and flash are all like "what?" --but I am trying to learn. Anyway, I am a Mac user and after the DL09 update and not being able to mount to my computer, I had my friend root my phone to 2.9, I think--at least it says SC 2.9 in the corner of my notifications pull down....

I was using k-9 to get my email from me.com and my office's email before the root and now I can't get it to sync. I removed k-9, added it and the accounts back on and no luck to getting them to setup. Also tried the stock email app on the phone. On this post I see mention of needing to load a modem...does this have anything to do with my problem? Does anyone have a solution to this. It is super neat to be able to mount my phone now and put music on it but super frustrating to not be able to get any mail except my gmail which I hardly use....

If this post is in the wrong place, please move it.

Thank you.

For some reason I can't get the samsung music player to flash don't know if it's something to do with the package or if it's not compatible with 2.9.1 going to try and adb push it but many in miss that is perfect if to the stock player

Anybody know why or have similar issue?

Need a bit more info...

What Email program are you using?

What type of file are you trying to open?

What happens when you try to I open it?

are there any errors?

Did this work before, if so what was your setup then?

Exchange email account set up to push, also set up to sync contacts & calendar. When trying to open any Word or Excel attachments they are either corrupt and won't open or if they do open they look like gibberish. Doesn't matter whether your simply fetch them & open them or if you save them to SD and open them from there, same result. I've tried 3 different Office Suite viewing programs with the same result.
I can take the same email and forward it to my Gmail account and they open fine...

Hello again all,

I have successfully flashed 2.9.1 via CWM red and now I have a question. I cleared the cache partition, the dalvik partitiion, and the wipe data/reset option. Now the phone is back to where I started with 2.9. All my customizations are gone. Is this to be expected when I flash a new ROM or did I get carried away with the wipe data option?

Mike

Depends on were you came from some you don't need to wipe data some you do. Honestly I stopped flashing roms for a minute due to the constant wipe and subsequent restore that got old quick. Unless we see a decent gb rom i think im going to stick with sc 2.9.1 for a little while it works great and I haven't found many bugs associated with it. I'm quite happy

Yep it was the data wipe that did it. Unless you are having problems or switching from one operating system (OS) to another say Eclair (OS 2.1, builds DL09 & EA28) to Froyo (OS 2.2, builds DL30 & EB01) you shouldn't need to wipe data, wiping cache and dalvik cache should be sufficient.

I agree. I've been down this road with my BB storm in the past and was constantly reseting my custom stuff. I'm a big fan of custom wallpapers and contact ringtones so this would very quickly get to be a PITA. Ijust wanter to make sure I wasn't effin sumthin' up...Thanks again.
