So I've been playing around with the files for SC and some apps on my computer, and I'm wondering if it's possible to change the apps in the SC file on my computer before loading it into my phone. For example: is it possible to change from the stock music player to the TW player by simply changing the .apk files in app folder, or is it more complicated than that?

i have been playing round and if i somehow do a small shake i feel vibs and then vibs again,, then all of a sudden i some screen open that i didnt ask for its a minor thing and i can do a return once and i am back to sc 2.9 .. i do have one main prob,,, i thought when i first installed the SC2.9.1 there was a 2.9 listed in settings/phone/ but all i see there now under Kernal is a 2.6.32.9
makes me think i am back to 2.6.. of course it could just be my imagination.
a confirmation of somekind would give me some peace of mind.. and why the vibs, crap shook ph just to check and nothing and then the barcode scanner opened ..

ok i found problem ..my hands are large and the knuckle based at the palm of hand touched the darned barcode scanner.. it comes up so fast i thought it was something wrong on my end.. alls well and Not to hig jack but droid you were right the GPS is right on..curve for curve..

Not sure, but adrynalyne is good enough to offer a bunch of the stock apps as flashable .zip files to augment SC

ues i was made a believer in Adrynalyne's post and thoughts..
i trust his upgrades and no one else can come close to him..

Papa, everything is correct there. When you pull down the notification bar, you should see SC2.9.1 in the upper left corner below the date and time. And under settings=>about phone, you should see the following:

Firmware version
2.2.1
Baseband version
S:i500.04V.EB01
Kernel version
2.6.32.9
Build number
SCH-I500.EB01

The 2.6.32.9 is the correct kernel for all of the EB01 builds. It does not refer to the version of superclean. All of the superclean versions will display kernel version 2.6.32.9

can anyone help im trying connect via usb to pc to move a file onto my sd card when i plug in to the pc i get no recognition at all my phone dings like its being plugged into a wall charger but not usb symbol or anything i have debuggin mode checked on im not sure whats going on ?

I was having this problem and i had to uninstall and reinstall the Samsung drivers on my PC then it worked fine.

i had tried reinstalling samsung drivers and didnt help so i figured screw it and just rebooted my phone and i linked up just fine not sure what it was that cause it nor have i tried to transfer anything yet but will shortly

This was an issue that seemed to happen a lot on DL09 and DL30. Other than a few rare cases it has been fixed on EB01. If reinstalling the Samsung drivers didn't fix the connectivity issue, rebooting the phone while it is in debugging mode and connected to the computer via the usb cable seems to always work. You should have no problem transferring files now.

just for grins i wanted to try the twmusic player provided by adrynalyne...the zip installed fine but the app isnt listed in my app drawer nor are there any widgets present that may be associated with it and using root explorer all the files are present in the system/app is there maybe a lib file or something Im missing? Or is there another tw app that the music player relies on?

I'm running into some weird problems on voodoo SC 2.9.1 where I don't always recieve phone calls when people try to call me. I can still call out, but I don't get incoming calls. Anyone else have this problem?

Also, should I use odin or cwm? I think I only see odin download files, but just want to make sure.

it works different with everyone but i have heard that DL09 works really well.... also you must use odin to flash modems you cant flash it through clockwork

Im using DL09 modem and my setup is running perfect...i recommend it.

Kind of a side question, but did your battery stats. improve with DL09. Seems like somebody in a previous thread a few weeks back thought it improved battery performance?

New to this phone techno stuff...another member talked me into rooting my Fascinate instead of leaving it in the drawer...LOL any how I followed all the instructions in the post and it now is sweeter than ever! The only thing I am having a problem with is Backup Asistant, Is that because its a Verizon thing? it wont authenticate....password is correct and everything...hmm can someone help?

With DL09 i have my phone off the charger for about 15 hours and still have 15% left. And thats after average use ( Browsing, calls, texting etc.) I cant officially say its better than EB01. The reason i flashed it was it improved my GPS. But thats just my setup.

Thanks so much for all the info and instructions. I have had my Fascinate for about 3 weeks now, and I had to try upgrading to froyo since i gave my D2 to the wife and was missing some of the features i have been accustomed to.

I am now rooted and running 2.9.1 thanks to all the help available on this forum. Here are my observations so far...

Overall i would say that this is very stable... no force closes since updating

phone- incoming and outgoing are clear and trouble free

SMS- both the standard SMS program and handcent seem to be working flawlessly (except that I have not been able to make Handcent the default program anymore.... get notifcations from both now)

rarely get MMS... so i am not sure if that works or not

still get lag when playing with some live wallpapers... but i believe that is the wallpaper not the system.

Bluetooth- on the positive side... it fixed the problem i was having playing music via my bluetooth headsets, and voice commands are working with bluetooth (one of the things i missed from the D2 running 2.2)
on the negative side... the bluetooth range has been cut almost in half. Before installing the new rom I could walk at least 30 ft from the phone during a call with no interference.... now i barely make it 10 feet sometimes b4 losing connection.

Auto-rotate - seems to be much more sensitve and this is very frustrating... the screen rotates with the slightest movement of the phone and makes typing and other activities very difficult. Never noticed this b4 the upgrade.

widgets- that need to auto update seem to randomly do so, but mostly do not. YouTube, Weatherbug, Pulse, and Facebook do not seem to update until i manually tell them to. This was a problem before i rooted... but seems worse now.

GPS - still seems buggy... connects but only after a long long time.

For your sms issues, go into your stock sms app and go to settings and click disable notifications. It will stop double notifications
