[Retired][ROM]Superclean 2.9.2 EA15/EB01/EB16/EC10 Based

Just wanted to say "Thanks" to everyone on this forum! I finally took the jump and upgradesd to 2.8 via Odin and then REALLY took the jump and upgraded to 2.9.1 via CWM. And I have to say that both times I was TERRIFIED I would brick my phone. But all went as planned. Now I can't wait for the NEXT upgrade! LOL Thanks again to all of you for the clear and concise instructions. Great job!!

Hi there,

Newbie here? I have a completely stock Fascinate and I was wondering if I should install the voodoo or non-voodoo Superclean ROM? If I install the voodoo version, are there any extra steps I need to take? Also, does the voodoo version come with all the kernels I need?

Thank you!

There are extra steps and extra precautions you need to take with voodoo, which is why I generally advise new rooters they may be better off starting with nonvoodoo and gaining some experience before attempting voodoo.

Has anyone had an issue with FC's on Words with Friends?

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, fixing permissions, and re-flashing SC to no avail.

I read a thread yesterday "More phone woes..." or something like that and two or more people were having problems with Words with Friends and one of them said "Word Feud" was a good possible replacement.
Hope that helps

Thanks for the heads up. It was working fine until I updated to the latest version (3.25), Argh...

Having a similar issue with an Exchange account on SC 2.9. Can't seem to open Word or Excel attachments and if they do open, they're corrupted. No problems with Eclair prior to root & SC 2.9 flash. See my previous posts #676, 701 & 715. No resolution yet, had to reflash back to Eclair. Need to be able to open attachments for my work...

Bump, are me and unreal72 the only ones with this same problem?
I really, really appreciate all of the work the devs did to bring this to fruition. I loved Froyo but as a business tool I have to be able to open basic Office documents on attachments. I'm really curious to hear if anyone else is having issues opening basic Word or Excel files sent as attachments through an Exchange account in SC 2.9?

I'm not sure yet... I just got done rooting and installing cwm-recovery-ALL. What would you recommend?

ODIN is the easiest method and includes everything, check out Droidxcon's post, once you get things figured out you can then start flashing this and that and everything else is CWM... until you get stuck in a boot loop and have to re-odin hahaha believe me we've all been there

Battery Life Issue....

Has anyone else notice this...

Since installing SC 2.9 my battery life has shortened quite a bit. I am using the same settings (brightness/timeout/background sync, etc) as I did with the Verizon stock 2.1 but now, after a typical day of use I'm down in the 50% range where before I rarely got below 70%

Any one else?

Me too I also wiped battery.

Sorry meant to quote the question about Battery life on 2.9.1

==============================

Yes, quite a few have seen this and to some extent EB01 just uses more battery than Eclair. For some it's been a matter of tracking down a rogue app that is causing the phone to never really sleep. For others the solution is simply recalibrating the batter monitoring/reporting.

Here is a thread to get you started: http://forum.androidcentral.com/ver...8399-how-discussion-improve-battery-life.html

A search on battery life or bstats will bring up other threads.

I had battery life issues on 2.8 but battery life has been good for me on 2.9.1

If you are going to follow the suggestions given to you and use one of DroidXcon's ODIN packages it will do the wipe for you. If you want to upgrade through the manual route, you will have to do the wiping yourself. Either way going from Eclair to Froyo, you have to wipe data, cache, and dalvik cache.

I really like certain aspects of the theme used on Superclean 2.9, but there are others from different themes I've used in the past that I prefer.

What theme is Superclean 2.9 using? If I install another theme and don't like it, is there a way to switch back to the SC 2.9 theme?

Thanks!
