[Retired][ROM]Superclean 2.9.2 EA15/EB01/EB16/EC10 Based

I'd like to try the EC10 under volted VooDoo kernel at the top of the OP, but I'm getting a little confused as to what I need and how to go about the process. Right now I'm at 2.9.2SC nonvoodoo. When I boot to recovery I see (CWMvoodoo lagfix recovery v2.5.1.x) shown in red lettering. If I go to install (zip form sd card)- (choose zip), I can scroll down to see (Voodoo/). But when I look from the normal phone mode, lets say from Astro or Mybackup, Voodoo does not show up as some of the other programs, data, info etc. do.
The OP talks about putting a Voodoo file on the sd card, as just a fake folder? or is what I'm seeing in recovery showing that I'm already good to go. Also do you flash the under volted EC10 form Odin?
Sorry for all the complications and appreciate any assistance. Thank you

I'm running SC2.9.2nv. Just flashed the recent undervolted voodoo kernel. I did create the disable_lagfix folder and everything is fine except for audio recording. The video camera app and voice recorder app don't work (i.e. no audio). The voice search does work though.

I already posted a fix to this problem, it's in the forums HERE

It was easier than I thought. It really isn't much different than flashing a ROM but now I will need to make sure that I don't flash a non-voodoo kernel without first disabling lagfix.

Put the voodoo kernel on your flash card, reboot into recovery, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache, install voodoo kernel, do not reboot yet, press menu button to go to first menu in recovery again, choose voodoo, choose enable lagfix, press menu button to go to first menu in recovery again, choose reboot now. Everything up to this point was quick but the reboot took 6 minutes for me and the very nice helpful robot voice will provide you with updates to let you know everything is working.

Good luck!

No, you don't flash the kernel from ODIN, it is a zip file. Read DroidXcon's clockworkmod recovery thread HERE to learn how to flash zip files through clockworkmod recovery (cwm) To create the disable_lagfix folder in the voodoo folder, connect your phone to your computer, mount the sd card, look for the voodoo folder, open it, and create then new sub folder.

It sounds like you want to move to Voodoo, correct? Adding the folder or file is for non-voodoo use. If you are going to convert to voodoo then you are only going to use ClockworkModRecovery.

This is what just worked for me;

I know this has been touched on in multiple threads so i apologize for redundancy, but I want to make sure I don't screw anything up.

To flash this new kernel and stay away from voodoo, all you have to do is create a disable_lagfix folder inside your voodoo folder in root explorer? and after that you just install update from sd card in CWM? and After flashing can you reboot right away if you are doing non-voodoo?

That is all correct. Flash the kernel_update.zip through cwm after you have created the disable_lagfix folder. Reboot with no worries.

Sorry No, I want to stay non-voodoo. More like what ApeaceofStrange is saying, although I rebooted Astro and found a VooDoo folder with lagfix file? already in it at the bottom of the list that must have been loaded or included in one of the SC 2.9 flashes I done, are you supposed to add a fake lagfix folder with it.

I have rooted my fascinate, replaced kernel, installed CW 2.2. when O go to install 2.92v Zip It hangs at Installing update.. I let it sit for over an hour.. Nothing...

I was able to reboot into the phone... Indicating that nothing had been updated... Need suggestions.. Thanks....

Sounds like you didn't have the correct CWM to flash the ROM. You need 2.5.1.x which is currently called CWM_All and it is Red.

Here is the link
http://forum.androidcentral.com/ver...-clockworkmod-recovery-w-screen-captures.html

You should probably ODIN back to a prior SC version and then ODIN the CWM_All Red version and then install the new SC2.9.2 and new kernel of your choice.

Gunnermike53 has another solution to that. You can read about it in one of his recent posts in his Voodoo thread.

Samba filesharing? I personally like wifi file explorer. Never ever plug my phone into my PC unless I'm using ODIN and I haven't had to do that in ages

While I'm sure it has probably been asked amongst the 155 pages here, I am going to ask it now, as searching through this thread has become a nightmare.
"
EC10 source built kernel. Uses jt's source, has bln/voodoo color/voodoo sound as expected. Is further undervolted than jt's. Voodoo only. For nonvoodoo add, a disable_lagfix file or folder to a Voodoo directory on your sdcard."
Will that download give me the 2.9.2 build, but undervolted? Or is that something different alltogether? I'm currently using 2.9.1 and having some battery issues, and thought I'd try the undervolted build before doing the awful "power-on-power-off until dead" thing from Gunnermike's post. Also, if that is the undervolted build, will that kill performance at all? Thanks again for all the help!

Edit: I realized that is just the undervolted kernel. Even so, will that work properly if I flash 2.9.2 over my 2.9.1? And still, will it help battery at the cost of performance?

That is the CWM I am running v2.5.1.x

Confused at this point... My Vibrant was Much easier to work. I'd have stayed, but I deplore AT&T

Thanks landshark,as always I appreciate the help. I'm too tired and don't have access to a PC in case of an emergency so I'm gonna sleep on it for now. Perhaps tomorrow ill flash.

Is it safe to assume one these new kernels would be included in the next version of superclean?

I also have another question out of curiosity for anyone who may know. Is there a reason why for this kernel, to stay nonvoodoo you have to create the disable lagfix folder, as opposed to the other kernels such as eb16 that had voodoo and nonvoodoo downloads?

Yes, you can flash 2.9.2 over 2.9.1 then flash the kernel of your choice.(Clear cache and dalvik cache) The undervolted kernels shouldn't degrade performance, they are still at the same processor speed as stock they are just running at less power. So, battery life should be better with the same performance.

You could convert to voodoo, if you have not already, to pick up a performance boost.

You should probably ODIN back to a prior SC version and then ODIN the CWM_All Red version and then install the new SC2.9.2 and new kernel of your choice.

Quick NOte, I am still on the stock ROM... I just purchased these phones yesterday... SO far the root is cool, CWM is working, I will say this phone is easier to get into download mode than my vibrants were...
