[Retired][ROM]Superclean 2.9.2 EA15/EB01/EB16/EC10 Based

JOrte am i reading it right that none of the new kernals will work for non Voodoo unless touchwiz? I dont want to go voodoo but im sick of the cruddy battery. I use LP and saw they say touchwiz except Adys, does that mean his would work non voodoo and with LP? or should I just be patient and wait for newer ones to come out for non voodooers? Thanks

Best piece of advice I can give you is to either use Adrynalyne's kernel from the first post of this thread (make sure you create a disable_lagfix file or folder to a Voodoo directory on your sdcard.)

Or... if you are not comfortable going to voodoo yet, then I would just hold tight for now. I would expect a lot of new stuff coming out within the next week or so (if not sooner)

yah not comfortable at all with it, I will wait it out, thanks buddy!

First time running voodoo. So good so far! Can't really tell the difference as opposed to Non Voodoo though...

music app SC2.9

Hi everyone,

I running the SC 2.9 version.

on the music app, trying to figure out how to get the recently added playlist to work. It is sorting by file name all files in this playlist.

Or is there some sort of reference already out there with directions on where I can build a playlist on my computer and copy it to my phone?

the old music app, you click a bunch of songs to create a playlist. I haven't been able to figure that out on this version.

thanks!

I'm partial to Winamp personally, I like my ah.fm shoutcast station for the morning commute and I can create and save playlists on my pc and put them on my phone and it's playable there as well

Touchwiz just means Samsung based ROMs. It doesn't matter what launcher you use. Super Clean, Blackhole are Touchwiz ROMs.

By contrast Vanilla, Cyanogen, MIUI are AOSP ROMs, built straight from Google code without any Samsung contamination.

So i can flash any of the non voddoo kernals then without problems?? I just want better battery, so I have no problem waiting for the people to work the kinks out after testing and what not

Yes, no problem at all. You can flash any of the voodoo kernels, then after flashing the kernel if you are running nonvoodoo, just scroll down to voodoo, power button, scroll to disable lagfix, power button, menu button once, and power button to reboot. Or you can go to Jaekar99's Themes, ROMs, Kernels, and Boot Animations thread HERE and check in post #4. Both imnuts and times_infinity have nonvoodoo undervolted kernels, so no need to mess with the voodoo lag fix or create the disable_lagfix folder with those kernels.

Sharky, I just did some reading and people are hit and miss with battery performance, since that is the only thing i want to use a new kernel for, I think i will wait for a whole complete Odin rom to come out. does that sound about right? I really hate the battery life on 2.9.2 that is my only grievance with this phone. LOL keep in mind I dont want to mess with voodoo at all

You don't have to mess with voodoo. Have you flashed anything through clockworkmod recovery (cwm)? If so follow the link I gave you before, download one of the nonvoodoo kernels, put it on your sd card and flash it through cwm. If you are unfamiliar with flashing things through cwm, DroidXcon put together a great tutorial complete with screenshot visual aids HERE

yah i flashed stuff im fine with that, just figured i would wait to see which one people say is the best with lasting battery, plus people say they are having problems with the -100 so im not sure. and gunner posted that his battery is worse with the -50 so i dont know what to do

Try the nonvoodoo ulv kernel from times_infinity. I'm running the voodoo one and it is giving me great battery life. Right now I am at 5 hours off charger and I am at 74%. Mind you that is without a whole lot of usage on my phone for the past 3 hours or so, but the majority of the drop in my battery % happened during the first 2 hours off charger when I was using it a lot.

aight ill give it a whirl should i charge up to 100% then flash and do battery stat clear?? and clear caches before or after flash? I only have flashed once so im not to sure on this, but if i screw up I can odin 2.9.2 ok i guess. what is the batch i used to back up just apps and app data? i didnt thiknk it was user apps+system data? or just backup all user apps and that will take care of app data. just dbl checking everything before i do this. thanks

The kernel is not a full ROM, it is only like 7 or 8 MB, so you don't have to be at 100% when you flash it. I was not at 100% battery when I flashed the voodoo kernels and had no problems with each one I have tried so far. It can't hurt to wipe cache and dalvik cache before flashing the kernel. I don't think I did every time. If you are looking to backup your apps with titanium backup before flashing, you backup all user apps and system data, but when you restore through titanium backup, you only restore all missing apps with data. Flashing just a kernel is not nearly as risky as flashing a full ROM, so you shouldn't have any problem.
