Returned my N8

Samsung is still rumored to have a a flagship foldable phone coming out soon, last I heard. Maybe that's a better option?
I would never temporarily use a "lesser" phone because of the size. It's Note8 or bust for me. I carry my phone in my phone pocket. So, I don't have any issues with a phone being 1 cm taller. This is such an improvement over the S8, if size was an issue, I am not sure what I would choose.

Me to the note has always been a big phone not sure why anyone wouldn't no that going in . I personally love the heft of the note 8

Sorry to hear you had to return it. I also use a belt clip holster, the exact same one I used for my S7E. So to me, it's not much bigger than the phone I was using. A bit taller, but same width.

I will never get rid of my Note 8 but then I also have several other smaller phones that I can use for times when I don't want the big phone. I spent the entire day with my family yesterday and brought my S7 Edge with me and left my Note 8 and S8+ home. It's nice to have choices and a big phone isn't right for every occasion, especially when going out at night to some places.
Wow! That's a lot of money in phones.... Lol

Yeah, that's why I still have my iPhone 6s and plan to use that when I go on my runs or marathons or biking. The Note doesn't work for all situations.

I have large hands and no problem using the phone, it can be a two-handed phone, I'm just an active person and find it hard to carry, for the price I don't want to destroy it being active, prefer something that'll fit my pocket, make sacrifices for that.

I'm a big guy with big hands, and I love the phone, but if I was very active, I'd also opt for something a bit smaller. Unfortunately, I have damaged a knee, ankle, and other parts, so can't do much activity without pain. I think you're making the right call for you. You need to be happy and comfortable with what you're carrying.

I had many hesitations about the Note 8, and its large size was a major one. I got a thin Spigen case that i usually have with my phones and found a leather belt holster that snugly fits the combo. Slightly larger than my Note 5 combo. This is working well for belt carry. Regarding pocket carry with just the thin case, very large for pocket carry.

Am foregoing a screen protector as the rounded edge and belt holster will tear off the protector.

Hey Sammy... I WILL NEVER BUY A PHONE LARGER THAN THE NOTE 8! ITS TOO LARGE!

It's important to look at the display models in stores to see if a device will be the right fit for you. I'm a small guy with small hands and even though the Note 8 is unweildy, it always represents the best from Samsung, and by a few accounts the best from Android, and that's why I'll hold onto it.

It is heavy and I do find I need to put it down after a while. I use my wallet case for YT and video viewing and I use my BT for calls. I would never get rid of it because of its girth. Too much else going for it, but hey. Choices. U gotta do what works for u. If I was going for smaller, I'd go back to the S8.

I had to get rid of my N7 last year for obvious reasons. I was done with contracts and researching phones so just got lazy and took the difference in $ and got a S7 non-edge. I found I liked having a phone that was pocketable. When I'm due to upgrade it will likely be to whatever non-plus non-note version of galaxy that is available on the 9.

Yes its big. Easy to see my shopping lists, hold my pen and movie player. Good things come in small packages and GREAT things come in bigger ones. I wont mention the great photos or other Note 8 only specs.

I compared it to my Pixel XL

Note 8 - 201 grams, Pixel XL - 176 grams (without cases)

Note 8 with Incipio DuoPro - 255 grams, Pixel XL with CaseMate 208 grams.

I am considering getting a thinner case, maybe a Spigen.

A slippery case does not work so great with the heavier phone.

i sympathize with the op and have regrettably packed up my unlocked Note 8 and waiting for a return label from samsung. I have an active lifestyle and work which makes the phone unwieldy. Loved the screen and features but the size makes it cumbersome to handle. Even with me having large hands it isn't easy to mess around with.
